The holiday home "Urlaub an der Seenplatte" is located off the road in the Kolonie district of the village of Großzerlang directly on the Small Pälitzsee. The area is located in the middle of the Stechlin-Ruppiner-Land nature park and is part of the Mecklenburg Lake District, the largest contiguous lake area in Central Europe.
Until the reunification, the site was used as a company holiday location of a Berlin industrial company and then sold to the current owner. She rebuilt the house and renatured the site. The harmony of the modern and transparent architecture of the house with the natural plot of land has created an ideal place for relaxation, where endless opportunities for doing nothing can unfold.
The high-quality furnished bungalow is characterized by a reduced, modern and functional aesthetic according to the principle "less is more". The 46 sqm living room with kitchen gives the feeling through its large floor-to-ceiling windows that you are in the middle of nature in the house. Due to the slightly elevated location, you have a wonderful panoramic view of meadows, forest, old oaks, reeds and the lake behind.
In the meantime, numerous animals and plants have settled on the 20,000 square meter property, so that there is always something to discover. Geese and cranes roam the house in spring and autumn. With a little luck, you can also see the eagles circling over the lake.
The surrounding area is ideal for outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, swimming, stand up paddling or canoeing. In nearby Seewalde there is a Demeter farm and an organic shop where guests can get healthy and fresh products. The historic cities of Rheinsberg and Neuruppin invite you to visit.

ArchitectureThe bungalow is characterized by a reduced, modern, functional aesthetic and subtle coloring: large and flooded with light, reduced to the essentials and at the same time homely. The house was built by local contractors and artisans. Only renewable materials were used for the wooden frame construction with wooden facade.
EnvironmentSustainability is of great importance to the home owner in all three dimensions: social, environmental and economic. A particular concern is the preservation of natural habitats for the flora and fauna on the property. The area around the house covers 20,000 square meters and essentially consists of natural meadows and forest with some very old trees, which ensure great biodiversity. The high meadows are mowed only once a year. The forest and meadows are home to a large number of animals, some of which have also resettled. The numerous hanging nesting boxes are happy to be inhabited. The house meets the latest thermal protection standards. The heating energy is obtained from a heat pump. 100% of the electricity comes from renewable energies. Waste is of course separated.
