After a restful sleep, a morning in Dreesch7 in the Uckermark begins with a view of the orchard, onto which the morning sun shines, of the birds in the garden or of a pretty rose bush.
The apartment, surrounded by imposing, thick walls, creates a feeling of security. On cool, gray days you can sit on the large window sills, read, drink tea, watch the garden and skillfully dream the day away. The garden offers many cozy places for lounging, playing or barbecuing. There are also fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and various edible wild plants and flowers that can be harvested depending on the season. If you don't just want to go on vacation, but are looking for a place to work creatively, there are plenty of places in the garden and inside.
The house was built in 1900 as a large sheepfold. At that time the stable belonged to a manor, but was then converted into a separate yard in 1936. After a year and a half of searching, the hosts came across this stable and bought it in early 2015.
Dreesch7 is backed by two creative minds: Norbert Fliege, architect and owner of a small construction company, and Christiane Lünskens, speaker at the Technical University of Berlin, scenographer and information scientist. Christiane is also a passionate gardener and cook. Both share a great passion for old handicraft techniques, recycling and sustainable building and renovation.

ArchitectureThe building consists of 80 cm thick walls made of bricks, which are plastered with open-pore lime, creating a very pleasant indoor climate. Wild bees nest in the joints of the brick walls. The ventilation openings in the walls of the former barn, which now houses the hosts' workshop, use barn swallows as flight paths for their nests. During the renovation and repair, care was taken to reuse as much as possible, traditional handicraft techniques were used and primarily lime and linseed oil paints were used. The furniture consists of heirlooms, vintage furniture or individual pieces made in the workshop. The same applies to the garden furniture. Whenever possible, products from regional suppliers were used, such as wood, gravel, plaster and insulation material, which come from the Uckermark. The atmosphere in the rooms was very important to the hosts, which is why they opted for a calm and aesthetically appealing Nordic design with clear colors and honest materials. All rooms are large and have morning sun. On cold days it is warm and cozy in front of the fireplace, on hot days it is cool, so that nothing stands in the way of an undisturbed night's sleep even in tropical temperatures.
FoodIn the "SupperClub@Dreesch7" menus with seasonal ingredients from the region or from our own cultivation are served. Purchased products are of organic quality and primarily from regional suppliers. The chef recommends booking a table in good time. Include the wild herb salad Edible flowers or homemade sorbets can hardly be resisted, and the same goes for other farm specialties: grilled game, fresh fish and fresh vegetables and herbs, as well as jams, chutneys, homemade sauces or pesto and schnapps made from pears or plums, juices and syrups. Vegetarian dishes are also offered and special intolerances are also taken into consideration.
The two hosts run the farm alone. They regularly support the unconditional basic income with donations.
EnvironmentPlastic and disposable items are largely avoided. Guests can use handmade and reusable cosmetic pads and dishcloths in the apartment or purchase them in their own shop. Detergents and detergents are biodegradable and / or old home-made remedies. Great value is placed on an animal-friendly garden with deadwood hedges, hedges with bird-friendly native shrubs and wildflowers. In the fruit and vegetable garden, old fruit trees and vegetables grow which are looked after. Dreesch7 provides information on environmental aspects on its own blog and on social media.
Well-Being"Well-being" is described here as a way to creativity: instead of using your head, you can work with your hands and try out new materials. Learning and experimenting with new things has many meditative elements and when the guests have a product in their hands, they fill a feeling of pride and satisfaction that they can also take home with them. Sports activities such as yoga, Qi Gong or Tai Chi in the garden are always possible. Yoga mats are available for this. A pool and a sauna are planned. In addition, the Uckermark is ideal for bike tours, carriage rides, swimming (two lakes in the village within walking distance), surfing and kite surfing in the neighboring town, hiking, jogging, long dog walks and extensive observation of wild animals.
