On the shores of the crystal-clear lake in northeastern Poland lies the holiday home "Zanurzeni w Ciszy" ("Immersed in Silence"), a retreat for all those seeking nature, peace, and originality.
Every morning, birds chirp, the lake ripples, and leaves rustle, while the scent of the forest wafts around your nose. Zanurzeni w Ciszy is more than a holiday home. It's a place without hustle and bustle. Here, there's only the vast green of the Suwałki landscape and the lake shimmering in all the colors of the sky.
Pawel and his family had been searching for a vacation home in this still unspoiled region for a long time when the previous owner wanted to pass on their self-built lakeside house to a better owner. The lovingly restored wooden house with hand-laid aspen shingles was perfect. The house is designed to be as sustainable as possible—heated only with wood—and harmoniously blend with nature. Inside, natural materials, a pine-green fireplace, and traditional patterns define the cozy country-house interior.
For relaxation, there's a wood-fired sauna and a whirlpool with views of the surrounding countryside. Whether practicing yoga on the private jetty, taking a dip in the cool water, hiking, or reading in the hammock – here you'll find yourself again. This place is ideal for nature lovers, families longing for simplicity, and couples seeking romance.
Regional food is available at the delicatessen in Filipów, such as homemade cold cuts, potato babka, kartacze (meat-filled potato dumplings), and racuchy (Polish apple pancakes). Those who like it can visit the nearby cultural monuments or simply enjoy the incredibly soothing peace and quiet.
The roof of the house and all outbuildings is covered with hand-laid aspen shingles—a traditional material typical of the region. The house, sauna, and hot tub are heated exclusively with local wood—there are no other heat sources. Local craftsmen are involved in maintenance and minor construction work, such as building wooden decks, walkways, woodsheds, mowing the lawn, and planting trees.
The holiday home contributes to the preservation of local traditions and supports the local economy. Guests are welcomed and looked after by a resident of the nearby village. Wherever possible, local staff are employed, and their knowledge and traditions are valued. Discrimination based on gender, skin color, ethnic origin, age, or other characteristics is not tolerated.
The property is surrounded by pristine nature—a forest and a lake are right on the doorstep. Electricity comes from renewable energy sources. LED and energy-saving lighting is used throughout the property. Towels and bed linens are changed only upon guest request, and excessive watering is avoided. The tap water is drinkable, reducing the need for bottled water.
There is a sauna with a terrace and jetty, a wood-fired hot tub with hydromassage, and the extremely clean lake fed by a spring.
