Upon arrival at Tre Pini, the view opens up to a gently rolling landscape of olive groves and sunflower fields. As the gate closes and the expanse unfolds before you – pool, natural garden, sky – that feeling sets in, the very essence of this place: arrive, breathe deeply, and savor the moment. The house enjoys a secluded yet wonderfully tranquil setting, a haven for a select few guests who appreciate peace, light, and space.
The former farmhouse in the Italian Marche region was carefully brought back to life about ten years ago. The hosts, a Swiss couple with roots on both sides of the Adriatic, deliberately turned their backs on the big city to create a place where hospitality is a way of life. Mirco has family ties to the region, while Vesna knows it from her previous professional life. Together, they enjoy sharing their little paradise with others.
The rooms are individually designed, blending old and new. Family heirlooms, such as antique armchairs, have been reupholstered, continuing to tell their stories. The rooms are spacious, the windows rather understated due to the building's historical structure, but life unfolds outdoors anyway: on the terrace, by the pool, in the garden. The generous breakfast, featuring regional specialties, is a delightful start to the day.
Solo travelers will also feel especially at home here. The house is small, but the atmosphere is welcoming. And the surrounding area is full of opportunities for exploration: the Frasassi Caves, the Conero National Park, and the Sibillini Mountains. Add to that summer cultural highlights like the Summer Jamboree, Jazz in Fano, and the Macerata Opera Festival.

The renovation focused on preserving the original structure of the old farmhouse. The characteristic construction of local farmsteads was thus maintained, and a large portion of the existing building fabric was reused. Local craftspeople were employed, using materials from the surrounding area and restoring the house to its authentic character.
Good food is a matter of the heart here. The focus is on "KM 0", meaning products from the immediate vicinity. Eggs and vegetables come from the neighbor or a local vegetable farmer, cheese and meat directly from local producers. Organic is preferred where possible; otherwise, regional and seasonal produce is favored over imported goods. Olive oil comes from their own production or from friendly olive growers, and figs and other fruits from the garden are made into jam. Individual dietary requirements are, of course, accommodated. The concept of the "table d'hôte" is particularly popular: once a week, a meal is cooked for guests and eaten at a large table – featuring house specialties such as Pasta Tre Pini or Mirco's summer risotto.
The pool is intentionally unheated, and the garden is designed as a natural, dry garden. Only Mediterranean species, which thrive in dry conditions and require minimal watering, have been planted. Resource management is also prioritized within the house: guest linens are not changed routinely, but only upon request and for longer stays. Cleaning is done exclusively with biodegradable cleaning products.
The saltwater outdoor pool is a place to unwind and let your thoughts drift. The house documentation also includes carefully selected recommendations for yoga, massages, and other activities in the village.
