ArchitectureThe various buildings in the complex were renovated very carefully and sustainably. The original structure was preserved everywhere and old materials were replaced with new but very similar ones where necessary.

FoodDepending on the season, breakfast is put together with products from our own cultivation and from the nearby region. Vegetarian is possible and special wishes and allergies or intolerances of the guests are also taken into consideration. Rather sweet breakfast or rather hearty…. Everything possible. Breakfast must be ordered separately.

SocialThe property is like a protected space in which young people, partly as working guests from all over the world and partly with previous social difficulties, can learn to integrate into a society and to contribute constructively. Here you can take a sniff of different work areas, get to know and develop your skills. With the knowledge and work experience acquired here at the Tenuta, they will later have a more real chance of finding a job, in which they will also be supported by the Tenuta social cooperative. The employees at Tenuta Montemaggiore learn a lot about sustainability and environmental protection on site using practical examples but also through theoretical instruction. For some employees there is the possibility to temporarily stay in a small house on the premises.

EnvironmentVarious measures were taken during the renovations on the site so that the Tenuta can be operated in an environmentally friendly manner. A large rainwater collection basin and biological process water purification systems are just as much a part of this as the production of our own solar energy, heating with biomass from our own wood and nutshells and well-designed insulation against cold and heat. No chemical fertilizers or protective agents are used here for vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers or for the care of bees. Everything is left entirely to the running and care of nature itself. The honey is therefore just waiting for its official organic certification.
