Saltus

Jenesien, South Tyrol, Italy

Amidst the picturesque mountain landscape, at an altitude of 1,100 meters and yet only 8 kilometers from Bolzano, the Hotel Saltus is located right on the edge of the forest.

The family-run eco-hotel offers its guests a breathtaking view of the forest and the majestic Dolomites. A perfect retreat for all those who are looking for rest and relaxation for body and soul. Here you experience hospitality that has been passed on for four generations. Mother Hedwig and her two daughters Claudia and Nadja are currently running the hotel.

With its 28 rooms, the hotel meets the highest standards of aesthetics and ultimate comfort. As a guest, you can feel the harmonious combination of tradition and modern design as well as a feeling of solidarity everywhere. The interior was designed according to the wabi-sabi principle and strikes a good balance with old design classics. The rooms are large and flooded with light, designed in warm brown tones and strongly influenced by the forest and the surrounding mountains.

Sustainable

ArchitectureMany local building materials such as larch wood, beeswax or red porphyry were used for the construction of the hotel.

FoodThe food at the Hotel Saltus is almost exclusively seasonal and regional and, where possible, according to the Slow Food concept (e.g. the ham from the Villnösser Brille sheep). The hotel also has a large herb and salad garden and sources these ingredients locally. No convenience products are used in the hotel kitchen and guests with vegan, vegetarian and allergy-friendly preferences are catered for. An evening menu is always vegetarian or vegan.

The owners support the club life in the village financially and gastronomically. They are also investing in a project for efficient cooking using biomass instead of coal in China.

Testimonials
