ArchitectureThe cottages are built from the natural stones found here and other regional materials. The thick stone walls have ideal insulation properties. They keep the warmth outside in summer and inside in winter. So you can usually save the use of the power-hungry air conditioning. There are well-functioning fireplaces for heating, which minimize the consumption of gas. The houses are designed in the traditional architectural style of the area. In homage to the area's most famous landmark, the monastery on Mount Athos, the main fireplace in the Platanorema restaurant was built as an exact replica of the chimneys common in the monastery.

FoodIn the Platanorema restaurant, seasonal and regional products are almost exclusively processed as far as possible from our own production or from selected suppliers from close by. Many dishes are vegetarian or vegan and cooked "slowly". Guests with special nutritional needs or wishes are very welcome to contact the kitchen team. Desires are also taken into account in the breakfast included in the price.

EnvironmentThe Platanorema farm is quite advanced on its way to full self-sufficiency.
