Nardòsalento

Nardò, Apulia, Italy

Nardò, on the southern tip of Apulia, is the perfect holiday destination: a beautiful baroque old town, more than 50 kilometers of beautiful beaches nearby, vast vineyards, olive groves and a southern Mediterranean climate.

One of the most beautiful accommodations is Nardòsalento, a small collection of very tasteful holiday homes and apartments. Whether La Botte, Teatro, Angelo Custode, Agrumeto, or La Corte, each of these accommodations is a little gem. La Corte, Agrumeto, and La Botte are located next to each other and can also be rented together as a "Casa Grande"—ideal for larger groups.

From the terraces of the Angelo Custode, the Agrumeto or the La Corte you can watch the sunset over the baroque old town of Nardò or relax in the small pool of the Agrumeto.

In the town, you can explore historic buildings, enjoy a cappuccino in the baroque Piazza Salandra, or indulge in a delicious meal in one of the local restaurants, sipping on some of the region's excellent wines and sampling the wonderful local food. Nardò's geographical location allows for a variety of vacation experiences: the nearest beach on the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea is just eight kilometers away, and the Parco di Porto Selvaggio nature reserve with its fragrant pine forests is even closer. The beautiful baroque city of Lecce and the ancient port city of Gallipoli are also worth a visit.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe house's architecture strikes a beautiful balance between ancient and contemporary. Regional materials such as Leccese stone, tuff, and local wood were used throughout the construction. During the renovations, existing materials such as old floors and doors were refurbished and reused wherever possible. The furnishings are a carefully selected mix of antiques, flea market finds, and new design pieces by outstanding local artisans, crafted from raw materials such as wood, metal, and natural fabrics.

The operators support the local theater, for example, by providing free accommodations for guest actors. This once led to a visit by the well-known Italian actor Toni Servillo.

EnvironmentSolar heat is used for heating the water in the accommodations. An old rainwater tank has been put into operation to water the plants in the garden and on the terraces. The importance of environmental protection is practiced by all employees. Instead of harsh cleaning agents, natural alternatives such as vinegar are used to clean the bathrooms and windows, rather than harsh chemicals. The Leccese stone in the interiors is treated only with wax and Marseille soap. The pool in Agrumeto has a low-consumption filter pump and is disinfected with salt. Waste is separated and recycled.
