Bed and Breakfast MØYN is only two minutes from the sea, the Baltic Sea, and the forest is within walking distance. The guests can look forward not only to five rooms furnished in Nordic style, but also to the sauna and steam sauna.
The Elle family originally comes from Magdeburg. But because of their love for the sea, they moved to the northernmost city in Germany, Flensburg. In August 2020, Anika and Jan Christoph took over the house with their two children and lovingly renovated it. The house itself dates from 1864, and the couple tried to preserve many of the original features. In general, they put a lot of heart and soul into the dream that they have come true with this house.
Each room is designed differently, but the Scandinavian furnishing style runs through them all. Some rooms were given a clay paint, which creates a great indoor climate. In addition, many natural materials were used. The five rooms are suitable for couples or families and are accordingly of different sizes. Some are rather small and cozy, others are more spacious.
Anika operates her own concept store, which is in the same building. Everything that is in the decoration of the rooms can be bought in the shop. Many products also come from the region, but guests can also purchase their own postcards and send them directly with greetings from the sea.

ArchitectureThe bed and breakfast is located in a thatched-roof house, which used to be found in the north often, but is becoming increasingly rare. The hosts want to counteract this by trying to maintain the traditional construction method. The main house, the adjoining horse and pig stables, which have also been renovated in a contemporary way, have given the property its very own charm. The renovation took place in cooperation with companies from the region.
FoodThe MØYN has breakfast that is freshly and homemade every morning. The homemade granola and pancakes are very popular with guests. The fruit and vegetables used for this either come from their own garden or are bought from a local courtyard. Guests can also order organic boxes from the farm for their stay. Breakfast can be prepared vegan or vegetarian by arrangement, and intolerance is also taken into account.
Local cleaners and a gardener work on site. The accommodation and the sauna are available to employees. Anika and Jan do the other work around the rental themselves. They support the Guardian Angels Flensburg by collecting donations and giving presents to children from socially disadvantaged families.
EnvironmentSustainability runs through all rooms and the garden: the common room is heated with an old Swedish fireplace, vegetable and fruit scraps are composted, the detergents and cleaning agents are ecological and there is no plastic. For the guests everything is served in glass bottles and in the rooms you will fi nd handmade natural soaps that you can take home with you after your stay. The garden was designed to offer a variety of flowers, fruit trees and bushes so that guests can enjoy fresh fruit and herbs. The latter are prepared for the guests with herbal salts. The hosts let an old stable wall completely overgrown with ivy, today it serves as a nesting place and "gas station" for bees.
Well-BeingAt MØYN, guests can attend yoga and Pilates courses. A sauna and a steam sauna provide relaxation after exercise. In addition, the surroundings and the nearby forest are perfect for forest bathing. But hikes, bike tours, surfing and kayaking trips can also be undertaken there.
