The moor&mehr Bio-Kurhotel is located in one of the most beautiful landscapes in Bavaria, the Ammergau Alps. The idyllic nature with the local mountain Hörnle and the surrounding mountain ranges invites you to go on long hikes and explore the moor landscapes. The proximity to cultural highlights such as Neuschwanstein Castle or Oberammergau also offers plenty of variety.
The hosts of the moor&mehr Bio-Kurhotel follow a deeply rooted philosophy that combines sustainability and health. The house has been run as a family business for almost 100 years - initially there were only a few guest rooms that were operated in addition to the farm. Since then, the family has been consistently and sustainably expanding the house. In 2008 it was the first certified organic hotel in the Zugspitze region. Sustainability is reflected in the entire structure of the hotel - from projects to renature the raised bog to the energy supply.
The interior of the hotel impresses with a harmonious mix of country house style and modern elements. Each room is individually designed and named after plants such as wild rose or sweet chestnut. The furnishings ensure inner peace and balance. Great importance is placed on a building biology orientation.
The hotel also offers a comprehensive wellness program for your health. This includes mud treatments, certified natural cosmetics and special spa programs, massages and revitalizing treatments to strengthen the body. The beautiful surroundings and the certified organic food also ensure a really wonderful wellness trip.

ArchitectureThe architecture of the hotel harmoniously combines tradition and sustainability. The core of the building is an old farmhouse that has been carefully expanded over the years, always in harmony with the natural conditions. During renovations and new buildings, particular attention was paid to building biology criteria in order to keep the ecological footprint as small as possible. Sustainability played a role long before the hotel became a certified organic hotel in 2008. Local craftsmen, some of whom have been associated with the hotel for decades, carried out the construction work. The result is a sustainable construction that blends perfectly into the surrounding nature.
FoodFrom Monday to Friday there are two menu options every evening - each with organic meat or vegetarian. Vegan alternatives are also possible and the kitchen can take food intolerances into account. The dishes are 100% organic certified and have been awarded Gold Partner status by Bioland. Some of the meat products come from our own organic farm and herbs from our own garden. Food waste is processed as best as possible, e.g. bread rolls in breadcrumbs.
Some of the employees have been with the company for over 20 years and are from the local area and the surrounding neighboring towns. If they have any complaints, employees can use treatments. There are training opportunities, a free organic breakfast, capital-forming benefits and working hours are respected. In addition, employees receive a 50 percent discount for other certified ORGANIC HOTELS for their own vacation stays.
EnvironmentThe family has been renaturing the mountain pine raised bog for 60 years in order to maintain the cycle and preserve the immense CO2 storage. The wood chip heating and photovoltaic system mean that 95 percent of the hotel's heating is from renewable energy. The Murnau Werdenfelser organic oxen and mountain sheep have been awarded a Naturland certificate and lead a species-appropriate and healthy life. With as much green time as possible on the surrounding lush meadows. New projects are carefully examined and only implemented to an ecologically acceptable extent. As part of the Oekobonus community of values - a community that makes a lasting difference with its environmentally and resource-saving lifestyle - the hotel supports sustainable projects. The hotel is also committed to clean drinking water in Laos as part of a climate protection project.
Well-BeingIn addition to the mud treatments, the hotel offers classic massages, certified natural cosmetics and special therapies. The philosophy of Hildergard von Bingen also plays an important role in the holistic approach of the programs. The hotel also offers special regeneration programs, such as the regenerative cure certified by "Healthy Bavaria". The offer can be supplemented by soothing sauna stays.
