ArchitectureThe operators bought the 80-year-old farmhouse ten years ago, refurbished it extensively, while maintaining the typical Catalan architecture. The goal was to transform Mas Montbrió Belvedere into an ecological B&B with minimal impact on the environment. For this reason, an earth and solar energy plant was planned and built. Over 500 new fruit and olive trees were planted on the property. The Mas has its own spring, which is used for the water supply of both the house and the olive and fruit trees.

FoodBreakfast is offered. The operators follow the philosophy of being "as green as possible" and therefore always buy products from nearby suppliers: milk from Catalonia, honey from the neighbors, vegetables and fruits from the Cambrils cooperative, eggs from next door.

EnvironmentThere are no refrigerators in the rooms. Customers share a refrigerator in the shared kitchen. Washer, dryer and dishwasher correspond to energy efficiency class A or higher. Recyclable waste is separated. In the common area there are recycling bins (paper, glass, cardboard, plastic, metal, organic) that allow guests to separate the garbage directly. The materials are separated in the facilities of the country house, since the operators themselves bring the waste to the next green point. The exterior windows have double glazing, which improves thermal insulation and reduces heat loss in winter. Some windows in the south have a reflective sticker against the sun. The geothermal system ensures environmentally friendly air conditioning. It stores heat in summer that is used for heating in winter. The windows are double-glazed to improve thermal insulation and reduce energy loss. The temperature of the heating control is a maximum of 22 ° C in the whole house. The rooms do not have individually controlled thermostats and guests cannot set their room temperature. The swimming pool is heated with solar heat, the electricity comes from the in-house PV system. The house has its own biological sewage treatment plant. Rain and condensation from the air conditioning system are collected in a large water basin and used to irrigate the garden. Every shower head and every toilet has a water-saving system. There is also a brochure in each room informing guests about the extensive "eco-practices". The towels are only changed at the customer's request; the towels are changed when the customer leaves them on the floor.
