Le Rossignol

Blansingen, Southern Germany, Germany

Located in the charming wine-growing village of Blansingen at the foot of the Black Forest, Le Rossignol welcomes guests with a touch of Provence. Hostess Petra and her husband Torsten discovered the listed 18th-century estate by chance, lovingly restored it, and opened it to guests in June 2023.

Throughout its eventful history, the Markgräfler Hof has served as a cooperage for wine barrels and a schnapps distillery. Its new identity is inspired by the French "Chambres d'Hôtes" tradition, which stands for small accommodations with a personal flair. All five apartments and three guest houses have their own style, characterized by natural materials and harmonious colors in a Scandinavian-modern design with historical influences.

It's a tranquil retreat with historic charm and modern comforts. A Mediterranean garden, a refreshing pool, and numerous favorite spots in the courtyard or by the fire pit invite you to linger. Those who want to explore the beautiful surroundings during the day can do so on foot or by bike along the Dreiland cycle path.

The accommodation includes a charming village shop selling regional products from small manufacturers. With "Le Petit," the hosts aim to offer guests and locals a unique shopping experience and a better quality of life. Especially during the summer months, guests can sample delicious wines over an aperitif in the garden and enjoy the perfect blend of French savoir vivre, Swiss coziness, and Baden hospitality.

Sustainable

ArchitectureDuring the renovation, great emphasis was placed on regionality and authenticity. All craftsmen are from the surrounding area, and regional materials were used in the design. The light-colored gravel, for example, comes from a nearby sand-lime brickworks, while old rubble stones were reused in the garden. No plastic was used on the estate, only metal, raw steel, and high-quality wood.

FoodRegular aperitifs with local specialties and organic wine are held. The small village shop "Le Petit" also offers regional products from small manufacturers – perfect for self-caterers and connoisseurs!

The employees, who are from the region, are permanent employees and benefit from flexible working hours and a free commuter ticket. The atmosphere within the team is informal, and the interaction with guests is also appreciative and warm.

EnvironmentAn environmentally friendly pellet heating system provides heat, green electricity comes from renewable sources, and the furnishings are made from natural materials. Upcycling plays a major role – many historic pieces of furniture have been lovingly restored. Refill containers for soaps and shower gels, as well as oils, vinegar, salt and pepper, and other organic kitchen utensils are available. Towels are changed as needed. Natural fabrics such as linen and wool were used in the interior.
