As the name suggests, La Belle Verte is a beautiful, green place on the edge of Brittany. Here you immediately feel comfortable. Hélène and Etienne Rozé Cénet renovated a former hiking hostel on their property in 2011 and built two eco-lodges to demonstrate that environmentally friendly accommodation can be very comfortable and cozy at the same time. Environmental protection is not an empty phrase for the two: those who travel to this little paradise by public transport receive a discount of five percent on the room price.
The near-natural and warmly furnished apartments and the location harmonize wonderfully: the lodges are located in a hundred-year-old orchard; the property is 8,000 square meters in total. If you open your eyes here in the morning, you can see pure nature. The birds are singing and maybe a butterfly is fluttering past the window. The organic breakfast prepared by the hosts tastes twice as good on the sun terrace.
The children's mini-farm is a highlight for children. Finally, it houses two chickens, two goats, a pony and three cats, all of whom are happy to be petted. Less than an hour's drive away, younger guests can choose between the amusement parks Enigmaparc, Cobac parc and Parc des grands chênes. But adult holidaymakers can also enjoy a wide range of offers. If you like, you can discover the beauty of Brittany by bike, for example. The resort is just an hour's drive from the Route du Mont Saint Michel. A popular destination in the immediate vicinity are the medieval castles Vitré and Fougères. Sports fans will also get their money#s worth: fishing, golf, canoeing, mountain biking, horse riding, hiking - all of this is possible in the vicinity.
Enjoyment can be massaged by the massage practitioner Annie in the middle of the magnificent flower meadow. The bath offered from fresh donkey milk with essential oils from orange blossom is also a unique experience. And if you want to start your vacation in a relaxed way, simply let the sun shine on your stomach on the terrace or in the herb garden.
ArchitectureThe roof of the lodge "Sous les Pommiers" is green. When you look at it, you immediately feel reminded of a well-being cave of the Shire's hobbits conceived by the author JRR Tolkien. Sunlight falls into the hut through carefully crafted wooden ornaments. The interplay of light, wood and individual pieces of furniture selected with taste immediately triggers a cozy feeling of wellbeing in the guest. The view from the upper window looks straight into the green. The lodge "Dans la Prairie" presents itself in a similar style. The wooden bathtub and the small open fireplace are additional highlights here. The main house has also been completely renovated according to ecological criteria. Open wooden beams and stones in the walls allow a view of the natural materials used and, together with warm colors and subtle furnishings, complement a coherent overall picture.
FoodIf you want, you can have an organic picnic basket delivered to your accommodation. It is stocked with organic, local and seasonal products such as terrines, appetizers, bread, pastries, cheese and fresh fruit (12 euros per person, purely vegan possible). For 22-28 euros you can get the lovingly prepared dish "les cocottes d'Anthony". At the reception there is a small shop selling local and regional products.
EnvironmentStrict ecological standards have been applied in all accommodations in La Belle Verte. At the hut under the apple tree, the large window front in the south lets a lot of sun warmth inside the hut. A 40 cm thick continuous insulation layer made of hemp wool keeps the heat in the house. The adobe walls serve as heat stores and thus provide warmth in winter and cooling in summer. This effect is reinforced by the mud walls inside the hut. All building materials are completely natural, harmless and as far as possible from local cultivation. The main house is a passive house, which uses its solar collectors to generate even more energy than it needs. Of course, waste is collected separately to enable the best possible recycling. Organic waste is composted. The company is environmentally certified. Anyone arriving by public transport will receive a five percent discount. E-cars can be charged free of charge.
Well-BeingIn La Belle Verte you can really relax. For example, if you want, you can enjoy a Nordic bathing experience in the hot tub. The hot tub is a large wooden barrel that is heated by a wood stove and offers real therapeutic relaxation. Annie, the massage practitioner, offers various traditional techniques from Ayurveda, Shiatsu, Chinese energy massage and Lomi Lomi - always tailored to the needs of her guests. Further treatments are possible on request. A bath of fresh donkey milk with essential oils from orange blossom is also a unique experience. Frédérique, who completed his training at the Ecole Viniyoga and has been passing on his knowledge for more than seven years, teaches yoga classes for amateurs and professionals.
