It all began when Liz wanted to offer her Irish relatives a nice place to stay when they came to visit her in Brittany. So she renovated one of the cottages that belonged to her French husband's grandfather's farm. When there were no visitors, it was rented out. That was fun and they renovated another cottage, and then another and another. What started as a guest cottage became a life's work: Liz and her husband gave up their permanent jobs to devote themselves entirely to renting out the nine cottages and developing the farm. Luckily! Because the nine holiday homes are real soul-soothing properties: Each cottage has space for two to six people, is tastefully and individually furnished and has its own garden. The surroundings are very rural, green - classic, rough Brittany. Here you live in constant contact with animals and the elements of nature. Always in view: the gardens, the meadows and the fruit trees. In the morning you are woken up by the singing of birds - otherwise you can hardly hear a sound here. If it is warm enough, you can have breakfast right in front of the cottage. Bread rolls, cakes and all kinds of other regional delicacies are placed in a basket in front of the door early in the morning. You can enjoy all this in the fresh air while the baby calves run around in the fields. Whether it is a romantic couple's holiday or a holiday with the children - everyone can feel at home here. Children are more than welcome and can look forward to lots of outdoor games, a giant slide, bowling and a sandpit. The Côtes d'Armor coast is only ten minutes away by car. There you can relax on the beach or enjoy the spectacular view of the Atlantic from one of the many cliffs. The area is ideal for hiking and cycling trips, and those interested in culture will also find beautiful excursion options in the numerous castles and palaces.

ArchitectureThe cottages are made of stone, as is typical for the region. During the renovation, almost exclusively natural materials and, above all, existing building materials were used: solid wood floors, some terracotta tiles and concrete floors that have cracked over the years and thus create a unique look characterize the image. Some walls are covered with hemp plaster, others with wood, red brick or concrete. Many building materials were recycled for the renovation of the cottages, and many of the old furniture was also reused. The name of each cottage corresponds to the name of the person who originally lived there. When decorating, Liz tried to take into account what her research suggested the original residents Rose, Louise, Marie, Josephine, Florence, Jeanne and Anne might have liked. The result is an individual, beautiful mix of old and new made up of all kinds of vintage furniture. The bathrooms and kitchens, on the other hand, are modern and comfortably equipped. The colors are light and close to nature. Bed linen and towels are made of linen.
FoodBreakfast is available for an additional charge and delivered to the cottage in a basket. The range of fresh breads, pastries and cakes from the local bakery varies daily. There are also homemade treats such as scones, shortcakes, crumbles or pancakes. The jam is homemade with fruit from the garden and a local fruit farm, and the apple juice is also homemade. The milk, yoghurt and tea are certified organic and the coffee is ground and roasted in Brittany. Just three kilometers away is the family farm restaurant called: Le Char à Bancs. Here you can try the famous 'Potée' or 'Pot au Feu' made with pork and vegetables, delicious sweet and savoury pancakes, Louise's homemade desserts, Corentin's cider, homemade apple juice, jam, honey and much more.
EnvironmentSustainability is very important to the operators because they inherited the farm and the associated cottages and want to pass them on to the next generation in good condition. Therefore, great care is taken to preserve nature and resources. A climate-neutral wood chip system is used to heat the houses (including the hot water). The wood comes from the farm and the surrounding valleys.
