At Holzhotel Forsthofalm, the name says it all. Upon arrival, guests immediately smell the pleasant smell of the hotel: the outer facade, like the furniture, is made entirely of wood, the rooms and suites are all made of moon wood - free of glue and metal. Due to the natural construction, the building fits perfectly into the dreamy mountain landscape and the alpine pasture, which lies at an altitude of around 1,100 meters. From the large windows or from the large roof terrace you have a breathtaking view of the green panorama.
The location of the hotel is particularly ideal for skiers, as the piste practically leads directly past the Forsthofalm. Après-ski with loungy music in a beautiful alpine atmosphere is a special experience. In summer you can explore the area on long hikes, which is no less beautiful. Whether mountain tours, mountain biking or a fitness program - it never gets boring here.
After training, you can regenerate yourself in the spa and sauna, and then enjoy the great view of the mountains in the heated outdoor pool. Or chill in the cozy hammocks in the relaxation room. Comfortable massages ensure physical well-being; special yoga classes are regularly offered.
In the gourmet restaurant Kukka, connoisseurs get their money's worth. The charcoal grill steaks are a specialty, but vegans are also spoiled - there is a cook especially for the meatless kitchen. Wonderful cocktails are mixed at the bar.

Sustainable
ArchitectureThe first renovation took place in 2008, the second then in 2013. Markus Widauer built the first seven-storey solid wood hotel in the Salzburg region. In the meantime, the hotel has several focal points, which are summarized under the motto and slogan "nature is freedom". The rooms and suites are all made of moon wood, glue and metal free. The whole hotel, including the rooms, is held together exclusively with wooden dowels.
FoodThe breakfast buffet at the Biohotel Forsthofalm impresses with its selection, whether vegan, vegetarian or classic - there is something for everyone. The bread is crispy fresh, the egg dish is prepared in front of the guests, the juice machine presses fresh vegetable or fruit juice and you can mix your own delicious muesli from hearty organic products. The organic products come from selected regional farmers. After skiing or hiking, a fresh steak from the charcoal grill, covered with alpine herbs, tastes particularly good. If you do not eat meat, you will of course also get a vegan or vegetarian grill specialty. The vegan chef of the organic hotel lovingly takes care of new colorful surprises on the plate every day. In the vegan restaurant, he creates new herb-rich variations and spoils his guests with hearty meatless cuisine.
EnvironmentEnvironmental protection plays a very important role in hotel operations. The Forsthofalm has its own sustainability concept, which includes the kitchen (organic), as well as waste reduction, water and energy. The hotel was created from materials that can be reused.

By car
The Holzhotel Forsthofalm can be reached from Munich in just over 2 hours (148 km), from Zurich it takes around 5 hours (410 km), from Innsbruck it is just under 2 hours (120 km) and from Salzburg you drive around 1.5 hours (84 km). You will receive the exact address and route description when booking.
With public transport
The nearest train stations are in Hochfilzen, Saalfelden and Leogang. From there, a free train station shuttle can be organized upon reservation. In winter there is also the Snow Express, which brings you comfortably from your home town (Germany) to the holiday region.
