Weinzuhause is a wine boutique hotel with an attached restaurant and a wine shop in the middle of the vineyards of Mommenheim. Guests here experience an authentic and sustainable holiday in beautiful Rheinhessen. Once there, the first thing to do is switch off and enjoy with all your senses. Guests are offered a break from everyday life with culinary experiences and our own wines.
The host couple of the Weinzuhause are Stefanie and Thomas Wild, as well as the winegrowing family around the winemaker Tobias Becker. The idea for founding the house arose from the fact that they, as a family, wanted to offer their guests and customers a full-fledged experience around the topic of wine in the long term: wine tastings, enjoyment and culinary delights, events, buying wine and experiencing wine up close at the producer. The property is located next to the winery of Tobias, the brother of host Stefanie, and offers a fantastic view. On the horizon you can see the hilly landscape of Rheinhessen, the Taunus with the Feldberg and the metropolis of Frankfurt am Main.
The wine boutique hotel is small, cozy and flooded with light inside. It was built with great attention to detail. Materials such as wood, glass, natural stone sinks and color concepts are adapted to the surroundings. Other materials such as leather, stone and high-quality fabrics combine with modern elements and create a homely, feel-good atmosphere. The rooms are decorated in red, white and rosé wine tones. The aim was to make the surrounding nature tangible in the rooms too. Most rooms have a balcony or terrace, which offer a wonderful view of the vineyards.

ArchitectureThe building is based on the rows of vineyards in the region. If you look directly at it, you can see that it is harmonious with the surrounding vineyards. During the planning, development and construction, care was taken to ensure that the house is harmoniously integrated into the environment and forms a unity with its surroundings. During construction, we worked exclusively with German companies from Rhineland-Palatinate and the surrounding federal states of Hesse and Baden-Württemberg. Stones were used that are mined and processed in local quarries. The wood for the roof structure comes from the Hunsrück / Eifel region and was processed on site. The interior designer of all the furniture comes from the Black Forest and processes the wood in his own workshop, where he also upholsters chairs, stools and mattresses for the rooms. Healthy building materials such as clay and lime plaster, which are good for the indoor climate and well-being, can be found throughout the hotel. When designing the gardens for the wine experience garden, native shrubs, trees, herbs, flowers and plants were used, which contribute to enhancing the flora in the region.
FoodThe Weinzuhause offers regional and seasonal cuisine that changes at regular intervals to suit the season. The menu mainly includes vegetarian and vegan dishes, such as cabbage and turnip curry with pearl barley and spelt. Guests will find typical regional dishes on their plates. The motto is: freshness and enjoyment in harmony with the seasons, with most of the products coming from the region. Table water, whether sparkling or still, is prepared in-house, thus eliminating long transport routes and packaging waste. Food waste is fed into the Re-Food system, which delivers the food waste to biogas plants to generate sustainable energy. Delicious dishes and homemade jams are made from the fruit of the hotel's own fruit trees.
Above all, respectful, appreciative cooperation is paramount. The hotel employs employees from the region in order to strengthen the region in the long term. In addition to their salary, the staff receive free meals and work clothes, tax-free additional benefits, regular feedback and development discussions, training and internal training. The employees and their family members also receive discounts on hotel stays, restaurant visits and discounts on purchasing their own wine. In a second step, e-bike leasing is to be launched to promote health.
EnvironmentBed linen and terry cloths are cleaned in a CO2-neutral way. The hosts attach importance to materials from controlled organic cultivation with the Fairtrade seal. The soap products in the rooms and the public sanitary facilities were specially made for the Weinzuhaus. They consist of 100% organic ingredients, are produced without preservatives and additives and without animal testing, are vegan and free of microplastics. The electricity for the accommodation is produced in-house: photovoltaics on the roof of the winery cover 100% of the daily electricity requirement. Rainwater is collected in large underground tanks and used to irrigate the outdoor area. It is heated with pellets. Extensive greening with bushes, trees and plants is ensured on spacious compensation areas. These contribute to a natural enhancement of the cultivated areas and the landscape and are a habitat for important insects and other animals. The garbage is regularly separated. Water can be saved by installing water-saving shower heads and taps.
Well-BeingBicycles and e-bikes can be rented daily by guests at the Weinzuhause. “Wine & Yoga” takes place as a regular event in the garden.
