Between the Tramuntana mountains and the quiet streets of Sóller lies the Ecocirer, a place that combines sustainability and deceleration.
Natural aesthetics and modern design come together in a traditional Mallorcan house renovated with eco-friendly materials. Large windows let in plenty of sunlight, while the surrounding nature shapes the atmosphere.
Barbara and Martin are behind Ecocirer, who have put a lot of heart and soul into transforming the house into a sustainable retreat. Barbara comes from Sóller and has known the region and its traditions since she was a child. Martin brings his passion for art and design, which is reflected in the loving design of the rooms.
Breakfast consists of seasonal, plant-based ingredients, mostly from the property or from local producers. Guests can visit the nearby farmhouse, pick fruit straight from the tree or meet the donkeys. Those who want to delve deeper into life on Mallorca can take part in cooking classes with home-grown ingredients or a wood carving workshop.
The surrounding area is also ideal for exploring the Tramuntana mountains on foot or by bike. A ride on the historic tram takes you directly to the harbor or to Palma. If you prefer a quieter place, there are plenty of places to relax in the house and garden.

ArchitectureEcocirer preserves the charm of the original building by preserving and reusing as much as possible. Found furniture was restored or sourced from local markets. Art plays a special role: works by the renowned artist Francesca Martí can be found throughout the hotel. Where new items were needed, they were sourced sustainably and from local sources.
FoodAt Ecocirer, the focus is on plant-based, sustainable cuisine. The ingredients are local, organic and often home-grown. The daily changing menu offers fresh, homemade vegan and vegetarian dishes that are not only nutritious, but also colorful and creative. Since the cooking is only for the guests present, hardly any food is left over - and if there is, the ducks and donkeys on the farm or the in-house compost benefit.
The Ecocirer team lives in Sóller and walks to work - in keeping with the hotel's sustainable philosophy. Employees can use the hotel's facilities and enjoy healthy, home-cooked meals. Ecocirer is also involved in the community and the local school.
EnvironmentLED lighting, sensor-controlled hallways and a heat pump ensure energy-efficient operation, while water-saving fittings and a rainwater-harvesting well reduce water consumption. The furniture is lovingly restored second-hand pieces, the bed linen is organic and the laundry uses environmentally friendly products. Cleaning is done using ecological means and guests can experience sustainable practices on the farm. In addition, travel by public transport and the use of bicycles within Sóller is encouraged.
Well-BeingAt Ecocirer there are many ways to be active or to relax. Massages and yoga provide relaxation, while hikes, bike rides or trail running allow you to experience the surrounding area.
