In the morning, the Wilhelminenhof holiday apartments overlook an old hydrangea and perennial garden. Tall trees rustle in the wind, and behind them lies the riding arena where the horses are galloping, or you can glimpse the neighboring farms.
Depending on the season, the landscape can be misty and mysterious, or clear and sunny with a fresh sea breeze. Surrounded by meadows, birdsong, and the rustling of leaves, it's easy to take a deep breath here.
The Wilhelminenhof, built in 1873, is a so-called "Gulfhof" – a traditional farm type from northwest Germany and the Netherlands, recognizable by its mighty thatched roof and impressive barn, known as the Gulf. After extensive, high-quality renovations, the farm is now a modern holiday home in Dornumersiel. Inken and her husband Johannes took over the farm in 2020 from Johannes' uncle, who was born here. The seven holiday apartments are spacious, flooded with light, and each decorated in its own color scheme. Their timeless, Nordic style creates a calm, warm, cozy atmosphere.
In summer, life here takes place outdoors in the countryside or by the sea, while in winter, you can cozy up indoors playing cards together or enjoying the breeze by the sea. The inspiring atmosphere is perfect for recharging your batteries and enjoying a relaxing break with family or friends.
The farm is also ideal for seminars, retreats, or workshops. Everything here is state-of-the-art in terms of technology. And for breaks, the unique Wadden Sea is just a short walk away. Here, everyone can truly find peace and quiet or find new ideas.

The farm is an old manor house. The old furniture has been integrated into the apartments. Old wooden beams have been recycled, and old parquet flooring and historic stoves have been preserved. Collaboration with local craftsmen and regional building materials is a priority, such as Wittmund clinker bricks from the surrounding area. The wood from the old biogas plant was used to build a stable for goats, rabbits, and ponies.
Honey from our own fields, farm-grown ice cream, fresh eggs, fruit spritzers, and regional beer. Homemade jams and elderflower syrup are also available. German wines are available for purchase here.
All employees are from the region; a single Ukrainian mother brings her daughter to work. If employees would like to take further training, such as English courses, this is gladly arranged. The almost familial atmosphere and fair working conditions are very important to everyone involved.
Electricity is generated via a PV system with storage and electric charging stations. The farm is supplied with heat from the biogas plant.
