ArchitectureAn old inn like this has naturally had to be renovated and modernized a number of times over the centuries. You can still see quite clearly that it is a beautiful old farmhouse with a long tradition, but also that new elements have been added carefully and harmoniously. This is reflected particularly beautifully in the use of different regional types of wood. First and foremost larch wood. This tree is characteristic of the entire area and is also the case here in the Hotel Stern, where a large part of the furnishings are made of it and where you can also enjoy larch soap and larch schnapps. There are also rooms made of various fruit woods and one room with recycled elements. All solid wood, everything built by local craftsmen from materials from the region. It is Huamelig.

FoodWith over 100 years of family experience in the restaurant business, there are naturally a whole host of "house specialties". For example, the apple strudel made according to Grandma Adele's recipe, which every guest should definitely try. And not only are the recipes at Stern regional, but the majority of the products also come from the neighborhood as much as possible. Because here you know the people who produce the food and can see for yourself the appreciation with which they do it. The new restaurant concept "Mit Butz und Stingl" is based on the motto "even more regional, even fresher and completely happy". The food is cooked using what nature provides. Always different, always new with a weekly changing, regional restaurant menu.

SocialThe working atmosphere at the Stern also follows the family motto: “I look after you. You look after me!” The collaboration is friendly, there is a 5-day week, training opportunities and regular joint excursions. A special focus is also placed on apprentice training. The Hotel Stern also supports the development of the region and the integration of refugees.

EnvironmentAt the Stern in Tirol, there is no joking around when it comes to environmental awareness. It's about hard facts and figures. Those who arrive without a car get a discount. And in the climate game, for example, guests who always take the stairs instead of the elevator, drink tap water instead of Coke and the like, forgo daily room service and linen change, and prefer to shower rather than bathe can earn environmental stars. Those who cross-country ski instead of alpine ski and take trips using public transport or the rental bikes on site also get sustainability stars in the very personal climate game, which highlights the many small and large options that everyone can use to protect the climate by reducing their personal CO2 emissions. Apart from that, the hotel is one of the few climate-neutral hotels in Austria thanks to local heating with wood chips, central heating, ventilation and cooling with heat recovery, and sustainable management in all areas. The new Sternentaucher eco-indoor pool was developed in such a way that it can go into operation without additional energy or space consumption. The energy used is 100% renewable and recycled materials and minerals are used. There is also an electric car charging station in front of the house. To compensate for the ecological footprint that still exists, an international and a regional climate protection project are supported.

Well-BeingThe hotel's sauna and relaxation area is on the top floor. From here you have a stunning view of the mountains all around while you relax and detox. If you want to dive into the underground water world of the mountains and discover the stars there, the new Sternentaucher eco-indoor pool is just the thing for you. Massages or a shiatsu treatment can be booked on request. Another very pleasant offer, but of a different kind, is to spend the night in a hay bed. And then the Stern has a few so-called "power spots" up its sleeve, but nothing is written about them; their location and secret are only revealed on site to guests worthy of initiation. The Stern also has numerous ideas and unique spots for "larch bathing", i.e. jumping into the cool green while forest bathing in the STERN larch meadows.
