The morning at the Buchhammerhof Martinsbach begins with ever-changing views of the beautiful surrounding mountain landscape. The Kaunergrat Nature Park is a perfect retreat for those who appreciate true peace and connection to nature.
The house was built around 1890 and acquired by the Buchhammer family in 2017, where it was lovingly renovated. They were thus able to save the old and architecturally unique farm from decay. To facilitate the extensive renovation and to breathe life into the farm for the long term, the family came up with the idea of inviting holiday guests who would like to enjoy this extraordinary place. At 1,100 meters above sea level, there are now three lovingly renovated holiday apartments with alpine charm, original wooden architecture, and modern furnishings. The living rooms are individually designed with historic furniture and decorative accessories.
A special place for anyone seeking a sustainable holiday in the Alps. The farm enjoys a wonderfully secluded location on the hillside, offering plenty of opportunities to sit outside and enjoy the view.
The farm is managed sustainably, and a small restaurant near the holiday apartments caters to your culinary needs. This is an ideal retreat for couples, families, and friends who want to travel sustainably and stay in a stylish yet comfortable setting. Here, you can still experience the authenticity of Tyrol.

The historic building structure was sensitively preserved, complemented by regional materials such as wood from the property's own forest and natural stone from the surrounding area. The award-winning architecture harmoniously blends old and new. Only the access and building services have been adapted to today's standards. Contemporary and modern, but with age-resistant, sustainable materials and outstanding craftsmanship. All wood used comes from the property's own forest, and only local stone was used for the newly installed terrazzo floors.
Homemade jams, smoked bacon, and bread baked in a stone oven are available for purchase—all fresh, seasonal, and authentic. There's also a trout, red deer, and fallow deer farm, fruit and vegetables, and home-distilled schnapps.
The four employees from the region are employed under extremely fair conditions.
Sustainability is practiced here with our own wood chip heating system, our own on-site spring, electric charging stations, waste separation, and resource conservation in everyday life.
