Waldhauszeit

Mücke, Hesse, Germany

The Wald(h)auszeit was created as a project close to the hearts of the two hosts Dana and Ralf. It reflects their desire to withdraw from the hustle and bustle of urban life and live in harmony with nature.

On the green property there is a forest house, which was built in 2018 and has two bedrooms, as well as a tiny house made of pine wood, built in 2021.

The Swedish interior design style of both houses relies on natural materials such as wood, which creates a homely atmosphere and gives guests a feeling of security. The crackling of the fire in the forest house invites you to enjoy the time in this harmonious environment. The idyllic location on the lake, surrounded by a biotope, offers the perfect setting for relaxation and self-discovery.

The town of Grünberg, known as a fair trade town, just 7 kilometres away, and the well-preserved half-timbered town of Marburg, 32 kilometres away, are attractive destinations. This combination of relaxation close to nature and regional culture makes a stay at the Wald(h)auszeit something special.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe pine tiny house and the forest house are characterized by their sustainable concept. The tiny house is built entirely sustainably, with a timber frame construction, wood fiber insulation and pine wood inside. The forest house also uses environmentally friendly materials, including timber construction, linoleum flooring and natural wool carpets. In the forest house, a charming flea market cupboard in the living room also gives the room a special touch, while the bedrooms have pure wooden shelves and wooden beds. Many pieces of furniture come from local carpenters.

The team includes two cleaners and a gardener who occasionally helps out. The hosts place great value on employee friendliness. Two employees have been with the company from the start and have the opportunity to spend their holidays in the house for free. The company is also a member of the climate fair, both financially and actively. The company's own travel agency, which has been in existence since 2009, also makes a contribution by donating a tree for every booking.

EnvironmentThe green concept is complemented by waste separation, alternative cleaning products, a pellet stove, an air-to-air heat pump and an energy-saving infrared sauna.

Well-BeingThere is a Clearlight infrared sauna that offers a relaxing break. Dana is also a nutrition coach and would like to offer this to her guests in the future. There are already regular yoga day retreats that invigorate the body and mind.
