In the middle of the Uckermärk Lake District, a biosphere area and strictly protected natural habitat with the lowest population density in Germany, there is a beautiful old estate, the Vorwerk Krewitz. The manor house was built in the 1780s in the Baroque style by the Counts of Arnim, who lived in Boitzenburg Castle as estate managers to oversee the estate's agricultural affairs. The house has a long history and has served various purposes over the years.
The hosts Max and Jolie found the property in a very dilapidated state in 2008. They have lovingly restored it and made perfect use of the spacious spaces to create a warm home for family and friends. The two of them are now renting out the beautifully renovated house, which has six bedrooms and can accommodate up to 14 people.
The two designed the space to reflect their personal taste and style. The furnishings are partly reminiscent of British country houses - colorful walls, comfortable benches and sofas, cozy large beds and luxurious bathrooms with high-quality tiles and fittings.
The house's large kitchen with its long table is perfect for cooking evenings and meals together. An open fireplace ensures coziness in the winter months, while three beautiful outdoor terraces brighten up the sunny months.

ArchitectureWhere possible, only craft businesses and materials from the region were used - natural and field stones, plaster or wood. In addition, old masonry typical of the area was restored.
Only local villagers work at the property and help manage the property. Employees are offered support and flexible working conditions.
EnvironmentThe house was completely renovated in 2014 and is of the highest standard in terms of insulation, heating and water systems. This includes a waste treatment plant and technology. Waste separation is strictly followed and the surrounding area of the farm is also put to good use, for example by grazing sheep and fertilizing the other lawns. Surrounding the house are wetlands and a pond, which have been revitalized by the hosts to create a haven for wildlife in an otherwise agrarian economy. The land surrounding the house is approximately 6.5 hectares and is home to some rare birds and other animals. Next to the house, Max and Jolie run a forestry business, which they have converted to a naturally developing cycle over the last 20 years.

From Berlin it takes about 1.5 hours to drive to Krewitz (121 km). From Rostock it takes a good 2 hours (204 km) and from Hamburg it takes a good 3.5 hours (298 km). The exact address can be found on the website.
It is possible to reach Vorwerk Krewitz by public transport, but getting there is relatively complicated and the buses run very irregularly. The nearest train stations are in Prenzlau and Templin (city). From there there are bus connections to Krewitz, although these only run very irregularly.
