Villa Hygge

Ostseebad Binz, Baltic Sea, Germany

Not far from the beach and right next to the forest, surrounded by protected nature and yet very close to the diverse range of entertainment in the Baltic Sea resort of Binz with its long, fine sandy beach and beautiful resort architecture is Villa Hygge with its pretty mansard roof and elegant color scheme.

The interior of the holiday apartments is as fine as it looks from the outside. Already the way up the wooden staircase, which has been restored true to the original, puts the guests in the right mood for the atmosphere of the accommodation. This villa from the 1920s has been restored, converted and furnished very carefully but with a love of detail and with high demands on the materials. So if you like it hyggelig - Danish for "cozy" - you are definitely in good hands in Villa Hygge and can feel good from the bottom of your heart.

And that applies not only to human guests but also to animal ones. Dogs are very welcome in the Hyggevilla, as are all kinds of winged animals such as swallows and redstarts, starlings and bats that nest in and around the house. And the garden is deliberately designed to be insect-friendly, which apparently also pleases the deer, which often come in from the forest to nibble on the herbs. If you get up early enough, you can watch them.

If you like, you can take a backstage on our blog. You can read more about the region in our country special. By the way, we also featured this accommodation in Five family-friendly places.

Sustainable

ArchitectureIt looks friendly, the small Villa Hygge with its pretty mansard roof. It stands there unpretentious, but somehow elegant, almost like it did at the beginning, in 1922. The current owners did not change the size or shape of the house during the renovation in 2017. Inside, however, the old floorboards and doors have been freshened up again, half-timbering has been partially exposed and the beautiful wooden staircase with railings has been restored. Only local craftsmen were employed for all work, the furniture is partly specially made.

The toilet paper in the Villa Hygge comes from the company "Goldeimer" from Hamburg. The Goldeimer toilet paper is the first social toilet paper in Germany. The purchase supports the construction of toilets worldwide in cooperation with Viva con Agua and Welthungerhilfe. The Goldeimer toilet paper is 100% recycled paper, certified with the Blue Angel.

EnvironmentIn the Villa Hygge you sleep comfortably and with a clear conscience, because no ducks or geese had to suffer for the blankets and pillows on the natural wood beds and the pine wood ensures an ideal room climate in the bedroom. Bed linen and towels are all eco-quality. Hot water comes from the solar system on the roof. There are only LED bulbs and devices with the best energy saving classes throughout the house. The rubbish is of course carefully separated, which guests are also informed about in detail. The garden of the villa is a specially created paradise for insects, which is also appreciated by the deer, which like to come in from the forest to nibble. And starlings, swallows and bats also like to live near and at the villa.

Well-BeingA cozy communal sauna with outdoor shower and loungers is located in the villa. Two fitness machines are also available to guests. The Baltic Sea air and oxygen en masse directly from the forest are also included.

Testimonials
