Not far from the beach and right on the forest, surrounded by protected nature and yet very close to the diverse entertainment options of the Baltic Sea resort of Binz with its long, fine sandy beach and the beautiful spa architecture, the Villa Hygge with its pretty mansard roof and elegant color scheme.
The interior of the holiday apartment is as fine as it looks from the outside. Already on the way up the faithfully restored wooden staircase, guests are attuned to the atmosphere of the accommodation. This villa from the 1920s has been restored, converted and furnished very carefully but with great attention to detail and with high demands on the materials. So if you like it hygge - Danish for "cozy" - you are definitely in good hands at Villa Hygge and can feel good from the heart.
And that applies not only to human guests but also to animal guests. Dogs are welcome in the Hyggevilla, as well as all sorts of winged animals such as swallows and red tails, starlings and bats that nest on and around the house. And the garden is deliberately insect-friendly, which apparently also pleases the deer, who often come in from the forest to snack on the herbs. If you get up early enough, you can watch them.
ArchitectureShe looks friendly, the small Villa Hygge with its pretty mansard roof. It is unpretentious but somehow elegant, almost as it was at the beginning, in 1922. The current owners did not change the size or shape of the house when it was renovated in 2017. On the inside, however, the old floorboards and doors were refreshed, the half-timbering was partially exposed, and the beautiful wooden staircase with railings was restored. Only local craftsmen were employed for all work, some of the furniture was specially made.
The toilet paper comes in the Villa Hygge from the company "Goldeimer" from Hamburg. The gold pail toilet paper is the first social toilet paper in Germany. The purchase supports the construction of toilets worldwide in collaboration with Viva con Agua and Welthungerhilfe. The gold bucket toilet paper is 100% recycled paper, certified with the Blue Angel.
EnvironmentIn Villa Hygge it sleeps comfortably and also with a clear conscience, because no ducks or geese had to suffer for the blankets and pillows on the natural wooden beds and the pine wood ensures an ideal room climate in the bedroom. Bed linen and towels are all eco quality. Hot water comes from the solar system on the roof. In the whole house there are only LED bulbs and devices with the best energy saving classes. The garbage is of course carefully separated, which guests are also informed about. The garden of the villa is a specially created paradise for insects, which the deer, who like to come in from the forest for a snack, also appreciate. And starlings, swallows and bats also like to live near and at the villa.
Well-BeingA "hygge" communal sauna with an outdoor shower and loungers is located in the villa. And two fitness machines are also available to guests. The Baltic Sea air and oxygen directly from the forest are also included.
The Villa Hygge can be reached from Berlin in just over 3 hours (309 km). Hamburg is just under 3.5 hours away (322 km). The exact address can be found on the villa's website.
The closest train station is in Binz. From there, the local bus runs almost to the front door - 300 meters.
