Apulia - or Puglia - is the boot heel of Italy. There lies this beautiful region between the Adriatic and Ionian Sea, which could hardly be more varied. Green vineyards and olive trees, white cities like Ostuni or Otranto or baroque palazzos in Nardo or Lecce - and always the bright blue sea.
The region is particularly known for its characteristic, historic round houses - the so-called trulli. Host Dorothea Schuster converted one of these trullo into a holiday home. The “Trullo Grano di Puglia” is an oasis of peace to relax and enjoy. Dorothea is not only a full-blooded cosmopolitan, but has also worked for many years in international hotels in Europe and America. So she knows exactly what her guests need to feel really comfortable. Both holiday homes that she has prepared - in addition to the trullo, there is also the holiday home “Casa Stella di Ostuni” with a large roof terrace - are extremely stylishly designed and are personally looked after by her.
The trullo, which is around two hundred years old, was completely renovated, but the outer walls were retained. The interior is also dominated by light colors - wicker and wooden furniture, indirect light, light cushions and blankets. The house has two bedrooms, another room with a sofa bed, a well-equipped, modern kitchen-living room and two new bathrooms. Ideal for families or a group of friends who would like to spend time together undisturbed. The large pool and the covered lounge area in particular invite you to spend cozy days between reading, swimming and cooking.
The holiday home is just five minutes from Carovigno, somewhat secluded on a hill. The grain (Grano) used to be processed here. Delicacies such as burrata or orecchiette are typical of the region. And of course good olive oil and wine. There are even figs and pears growing in the garden of the house - a real land of milk and honey.
