In the mornings, the gentle light of the rising sun awakens guests, accompanied by birdsong and a usually clear, blue sky. In the evenings, the warm, golden light bathes the surroundings in a peaceful atmosphere.
The houses are small, minimalist, and comfortably furnished in a Scandinavian style with functional furnishings that make optimal use of space. Natural colors, warm wood, and practical furniture create a calm, uncluttered environment where everything has its place. Large windows and the terrace connect the interior directly with nature, allowing guests to be sheltered yet close to the outdoors.
Tiny House Algarve has been operating since 2021 and is a family-run project that opened to guests in 2022. It originated from the idea of making conscious, simple living accessible within an unspoiled Mediterranean landscape. Ecological aspects are constantly being improved: renewable energy, water management, and native plants ensure that the houses are gently integrated into nature.
The accommodation is approximately a 5-10 minute drive from Lagos. Parking is available; public transport is limited in rural areas but can be used in Lagos and continued by taxi or rental car. Here, guests experience how little space is needed to feel comfortable, unwind, and consciously enjoy the tranquility of the Algarve.

Sustainable
Sustainability played a key role in the choice of materials and furnishings: durable, minimalist, and carefully selected. The house blends harmoniously into nature without dominating it. Built from Portuguese thermally modified wood, the natural stone walls rest on locally sourced stone. The plants surrounding the houses are native and require very little water. This ensures that everything remains authentic to the Algarve climate – no exotic plants that are not native to the area or would be susceptible to the local weather.
Breakfast is offered, along with grazing boards and wine made from regional, seasonal, and organic products, all with minimal packaging. Vegan, vegetarian, or other dietary requirements are accommodated upon prior notice. The Tiny House Algarve Special Breakfast includes eggs cooked to order, a smoothie bowl, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee made to order, and raw food balls.
Tiny Houses Algarve is a very small, family-run project without permanent staff. For occasional help, they collaborate with people from the region and local service providers, ensuring that the income flows directly into the local economy.
The tiny houses are designed to leave the smallest possible ecological footprint. Well-insulated walls and windows reduce heating and cooling requirements, while efficient appliances and thoughtfully chosen lighting save further energy. Guests are informed about water conservation, waste separation, and mindful energy use upon check-in. The showers are water-saving, laundry is washed on-site and air-dried, and recycling bins are provided. At the same time, guests are encouraged to support local businesses, farmers' markets, and nature-based activities, ensuring their stay directly benefits the region and makes conscious travel a tangible experience.
Private yoga sessions are offered on the property, subject to availability and bookable in advance. There are also many recommendations for hiking, cycling, kiteboarding, surfing, SUP yoga, and other activities in the surrounding area.
