Terrace Houses Sirince

Sirince, Izmir, Turkey

The Terrace Houses Sirince near Izmir are very picturesquely situated on a hillside with breathtaking views of the hilly landscape and the town of Sirince. Surrounded by olive trees and pine forests that smell wonderful. The historic houses are under monument protection and living here has something of a very special journey through time.

The Anglo-Turkish couple, Charlotte and Omer, fell in love with the region and the houses over twenty years ago. To date, they have successively renovated four cottages individually for their guests, preserving their original charm. In the middle of the houses there is also a beautiful church. Overall, the region has an eventful history with exciting sights, especially for history buffs.

The houses are each suitable for up to four people and are decorated with restored antiques and beautiful finds. Each cottage has a small kitchen, a well-stocked library of history books and local guidebooks, and a collection of jazz CDs. So you can enjoy the crackling fireplace or the view with chilled music.

The breakfast is varied with fresh products from the garden or from the neighboring farmers - and even late risers get something prepared. In the evening you can enjoy the sunset on your own terrace and order a good wine and delicious delicacies. In the high season there are aubergine dishes with or without meat, plus rice or homemade börek (dough made from yufka dough with a spicy filling made from minced meat, feta cheese, spinach or other vegetables and parsley), a colorful salad and sweet desserts. The perfect mix of traditional cuisine and modern holiday feeling.

Sustainable

ArchitectureSirince was one of the largest Greek settlements in the eighteenth century. The architecture is unique and lies on fertile soil and is protected from earthquakes thanks to its geographical location. The streams flowing through the village in winter and spring ensure sufficient water and harvest. Restored cupboards and (garden) furniture in all buildings.

FoodThe organic olive oil from the property's olive trees is used for cooking. Most of the herbs and vegetables also come from the garden or from the neighbors who produce goat cheese, Eriste pasta and sun-dried tomatoes. There are also delicious tangerines and apricots on site.

EnvironmentThe electricity comes from solar panels and is used to heat the water, among other things. An old spring is not far from the village and has always ensured very good water quality.
