Stroblhof

Eppan, South Tyrol, Italy

Surrounded by its own vineyards and the forests at the foot of the Mendel Mountains, the Stroblhof is nestled in a landscape that transforms itself with every season. The vegetable and herb garden, the garden terrace where you can enjoy wine under the wisteria, the view of the Dolomites, and the interplay of light and vines create a backdrop that radiates peace and space.

The hotel combines a hotel, restaurant, and winery under one roof. From the wellness area, views sweep over the mountains, and the sky reflects in the bio-pool by the water lily pond. Those looking for exercise will find hiking trails, bike paths, and a tennis court right outside. In the evening, the cuisine combines Mediterranean inspiration with regional ingredients, accompanied by the house's own wines.

The host family Hanni-Nicolussi runs the Stroblhof with noticeable warmth: Christine, her sister Rosi and daughter Anna look after the guests, while Andreas and son Thomas passionately manage the work at the winery.

The historic character of the building will be preserved, even as it evolves: In May 2026, the new Rittstein Homes will open – six stylish apartments in an unobstructed location – nestled in the greenery, surrounded by vineyards, historic estates, and castles. The interiors are simple and timeless, characterized by natural materials such as wood, stone, and clay-lime. Each room is individually designed, bright, and spacious, blending old walls with modern accents.

Sustainable

Architecture

The Stroblhof is a historically grown house that is being carefully developed with great respect for its tradition. Old structures are preserved and harmoniously combined with modern elements, creating an atmosphere that combines the charm of bygone times with contemporary comfort. Each room bears its own distinctive signature and is characterized by natural materials such as wood and clay-lime plaster on the walls. A nature-oriented, resource-conserving approach is also at the forefront of the renovation of the garden, pool, outdoor areas, and bar. For construction and renovation work, the Stroblhof works exclusively with local companies and relies on regional, sustainable materials.

Food

The cuisine is characterized by regionality, seasonality, and sustainability. Breakfast is served as a buffet, and all other dishes are freshly prepared à la carte, thus avoiding food waste. Many ingredients come directly from the farm's own garden: lettuce, herbs, tomatoes, and zucchini, depending on the season. Food waste is separated and composted, and the flower decorations in the house come exclusively from the garden. Chef Enzo combines traditional South Tyrolean dishes with influences from around the world in his Italian style of cooking. Everything is homemade—from fresh pasta to pickled specialties—created with care and love.

A large portion of the Stroblhof team comes from South Tyrol and Italy, keeping the local culture tangible and authentic hospitality alive. Employees enjoy attractive benefits, including a 50% discount on wellness treatments and free use of the swimming pools, tennis court, and bicycles. This creates a working environment that promotes health and well-being. Furthermore, the Stroblhof supports social initiatives such as "Light for the World" and "South Tyrolean Doctors for the World" – both financially and through awareness-raising work.

Environment

A private spring, as well as solar and photovoltaic systems, provide the house and farm with environmentally friendly water and energy. Waste separation, avoiding unnecessary waste, environmentally friendly cleaning products, and conscious use of water are integral parts of everyday life. It's all about quality and balance: comfort and natural luxury are combined with responsible use – nothing in excess, but enough of everything. Guests are openly and warmly informed about the sustainable measures, whether in person, through materials in the house, or digitally.

Well-Being

At the Stroblbad wellness area, relaxation can be found in many ways: in the spacious indoor pool, the natural pool, or in one of the saunas – whether Finnish, bio, steam bath, or infrared. Soothing massages and cosmetic treatments with products from the South Tyrolean brand Team Dr. Joseph are also available. There are also weekly Pilates classes.
