The Steinach Townhouse in Merano is a historic town house with modern comfort - a symbiosis of old and new. The attention to detail, the uniqueness of the small place and the joy of the host can be felt in the many detailed subtleties.
The building in which the accommodation is located stood empty for years. When the host and designer couple Giulia and Roger discovered it, it was enthusiastic about its reserved atmosphere from the start. The accommodation is located away from the tourist crowds and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains, the tower of the nearby church, the roofs and alleys of the old town and the river promenade. Despite the neglected condition, the hosts immediately fell in love with the various incidence of light in the rooms, which create a different atmosphere at different times of the day, as well as with the special view. The architectural details were only discovered afterwards, such as the historic doors and the original old floors.
The property was completely renovated from 2019 to 2020, trying to preserve the old and combining it with the new. That was precisely the challenge facing the two hosts. They have therefore spent a lot of time looking for and collecting original South Tyrolean furniture in order to combine the different styles and to furnish the suites tastefully. The shared passion for furnishings and art has made the suites an ideal retreat for people who love places that tell a story. For those who appreciate the comfort and luxurious amenities that make life beautiful. In the rooms there are mainly works of art by local artists, which creates an individual atmosphere. The property opened in May 2021.

ArchitectureThe renovation in accordance with the listed buildings took place while carefully preserving the previous components, such as the floors and doors. In the Steinach Townhouse, old and traditional skilfully meet modern design and comfort. Each room is individually designed - most of them still adorn the original floors. All suites have extra comfortable double beds, with allergen-free mattresses with toppers, duvets, a set of different pillows, and a modern, bright bathroom.
FoodThe Steinach Townhouse serves a breakfast that pays special attention to the freshness and regionality of the food. The organic breakfast is mostly homemade and includes jams and jams, cakes and muf fi ns, smoothies and porridges. Homemade bread is also served time and again. In order to avoid leftovers, guests can put their breakfast together individually from a menu. The kitchen is happy to take intolerance and allergies into consideration and prepare an appropriate offer.
EnvironmentThe hosts value and respect the environment very much and try to protect it wherever possible: The cleaning is done with dry steam and with little use of biological cleaning agents. Regional hygiene products are offered in the rooms via dispensers and the house implements a recycling concept. There is also a special heating and cooling system that enables a room climate that is adapted to every time of the day and season. We consciously do not offer disposable slippers, but washable reusable slippers. The toiletries are made on the basis of plants and the spring water comes 100% from South Tyrol.
Well-BeingThe property has a partnership with the local spa TERME MERANO, which is just a few minutes' walk from the property. For the thermal baths there is a discount of 20% on admission and 10% on the treatments offered there. Various massages can be arranged in the guest suite on request. Opposite the townhouse there is a yoga and Shiatsu center, with which there is also a collaboration.
