In the middle of the northern mountains Mallorca hides a true Balearic jewel with the country hotel Son Siurana. In the 18th century, the estate was devoted to sheep breeding, the cultivation of grain and the harvest of almonds and carob. The main house, built according to typical Mallorcan architecture, was lovingly renovated in 1998 and transformed into a cozy, modern country hotel without losing its rural character. Since then, guests from all over the world can feel comfortable in the ecologically operated finca.
The hosts bring the real shine to the property. Their goal: to preserve the original charm of the finca, which has been in the family for over two centuries, and to share the love for its Mallorcan heritage with the visitors. It starts with breakfast: breakfast, consisting of local specialties and homemade jam, is served in the hotel courtyard, next to the ecologically operated vegetable garden. A pleasure for all senses. After that, all you have to do is enjoy the peace and quiet. It's really not difficult in this dreamlike setting.
From the main terrace you have an enchanting view of the fields and the mountains of the Sierra de Tramuntana, which rise majestically. It is not for nothing that Unesco made the unique landscape a World Heritage Site. This panorama and the beautiful layout of the accommodations also make the finca attractive for wedding parties. Around 100 hectares of land belong to the property and are available to guests. The guest can relax by the pool or in the garden or walk and examine the path "Cami Sestadors", where the more than 200 sheep of the finca and also a family of five donkeys are at home.
Those who are drawn to the sea can go to the beaches of Pollensa, Alcudia or Mal Pas, which are only a few minutes away by car. A great excursion is the city of Pollensa, which has a lot to offer archaeologically and in its small shops you can browse for handicrafts and souvenirs. In the evening you can admire the sunset from the hotel terrace.
ArchitectureThe main house, built according to typical Mallorcan architecture, was built in 1784. The massive stone building has been lovingly renovated and transformed into a cozy, modern country hotel without losing its rural character. Guests are accommodated in comfortable rooms that used to be used as a barn for straw and hay and for drying figs. The rural character has been carefully preserved thanks to the limed walls and the vaulted ceilings with open wooden beams. The rooms are furnished with restored, antique furniture. Terracotta floors, hand-painted tiles and the typical Mallorcan fabrics underline the rural magic.
FoodThe restaurant of the country hotel Son Siurana offers fresh, typical Mallorcan food. The ingredients come from the regional market and their own organic vegetable garden, meat comes from the pasture. All wishes and needs can be met during preparation. Various types of bread, homemade jams and other Mallorcan specialties such as local sausages, organic sheep's cheese and yoghurt are served for breakfast.
EnvironmentEnvironmental protection is an important part of the corporate philosophy. The entire hotel and the gardens are operated according to ecological criteria. Garbage is separated and recycled.
