Sindlhauser

Kochel am See, Bavaria, Germany

In 2019, the hosts, Bettina and Michael Sindlhauser, completed two apartments and are now looking forward to welcoming their guests to Ried. You are always looking for beautiful and sustainable accommodation and have used the opportunity to create an offer as you would like it to be: homely and modern, close to nature and with a sense of sustainability.

The two holiday apartments extend over 67 square meters and over two levels, on the upper level there is the sleeping gallery, the lower level consists of an open living-dining room and a bathroom with shower and toilet. The modern and straightforward design creates an atmosphere of wellbeing. The natural building materials ensure an excellent indoor climate during the entire stay.

The carpentry workshop building, which was built in Vorarlberg style, was built in 2012 under the two apartments on the upper floor. There, with love for the material wood, innovative ideas for modern architecture are developed. The vision of the Sindlhausers is to inspire the visitors of the holiday apartments with wood as a building material and to show them a way for modern and sustainable architecture.

Guests can explore and experience nature in Ried, one of the largest contiguous bog areas in Europe. The Upper Bavarian Walchensee and the Kochelsee are in the immediate vicinity. The Benediktbeuern monastery is only a few kilometers away and offers information about the moor area as well as other cultural offers. In Kochel am See, just 5 kilometers away, you can visit the FranzMarc Museum for Expressionist Art and the Kristall Therme Trimini.

We also featured this accommodation on our blog at Five places for winter sports.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe architecture of the apartments was created in the Vorarlberg style with the use of rough sawn silver fir. Other natural building materials such as clay plaster, moon-beaten wood or slate provide a unique indoor climate. All materials come from the surrounding area. Also to be emphasized: All furniture and equipment elements come from our own production and are built in a sustainable architectural style. The conscious selection of sustainable materials and a straightforward style let nature appear in its uniqueness and thus create a living, open and light-flooded living space.

EnvironmentThe Sindlhauser family has been working sustainably, ecologically and consistently in their own business for more than 30 years. In terms of material processing, they work in a closed cycle system, and the carpentry is also a CO2-neutral certified company. Waste separation is a matter of course in the apartments. All building materials in the creation of the apartments are recyclable. The Sindlhausers are also involved in the afforestation of the rainforest.

Well-BeingIn the annex there is a physiotherapy and massage practice, with which an appointment can be booked after consultation: The offer ranges from lymphatic drainage therapy to individual treatments.
