Tiny House

Schneeweißchen & Rosenrot

Mauerbach, Lower Austria, Austria

The Tiny Houses Schneeweißchen & Rosenrot offer the experience that living in a small space can be enriching. The ecological building materials and the smell of the solid wood furnishings ensure a pleasant living environment. On cold days, the crackling of the wood stove offers an extra helping of cosiness.

The planning of the two caravans Schneeweißchen & Rosenrot began in 2018, they were set up in winter 2020 and guests have been welcomed since autumn 2021. Edith and Helmut, the hosts of Schneeweißchen & Rosenrot, live opposite and offer regular seminars and workshops in their house, such as drumming, smoking and self-awareness seminars. Her heart's concern was to create a healing place where people can come to rest. The Tiny Houses from Wohnwagon were chosen because they wanted to build sustainably and regionally.

The market town of Mauerbach is the home of the hosts and the property opposite wanted to be revitalized. The names of the caravans Schneeweißchen & Rosenrot can be found in the interior design. Colored accents and loving details make up the individual charm. Both tiny houses are equipped with a terrace or a sun deck. Sun loungers, chairs and a hammock invite you to relax. The barefoot path in the garden gives you a natural reflexology massage and helps you to feel the connection to the earth. From the 33 square meter Tiny Haus Rosenrot, guests can see a beautiful red maple tree. Schneeweißchen is 18 square meters and offers a view over the Vienna Woods.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe caravans are made of natural wood. They are insulated with sheep's wool and partly plastered with clay on the inside. The interior consists of solid wood furniture. The round shapes fit harmoniously into the lovingly designed garden. In the garden there is also a well for irrigation and a barefoot path. The two tiny houses come from Gutenstein, Lower Austria. The manufacturer is Wohnwagon, which specializes in the construction of sustainable, self-sufficient, natural living spaces. Only high-quality, regional building materials are used to build their caravans.

It is possible for people in precarious situations to receive a reduced social price for an overnight stay.

EnvironmentThere is a photovoltaic system and green electricity is used. Guests can keep an eye on their own energy gain and consumption via a tablet. Water-saving inserts reduce water consumption. The heating and hot water are obtained from the sun and wood. Only ecological cleaning agents are used. There is a compost toilet and a lot of emphasis is placed on sorting waste. For food waste there is an extra compost collecting bucket and a hot composter that creates humus itself.

Well-BeingThere is the offer of personal accompaniment in challenging times, sound journeys, body work (Lomi Lomi Nui), power place hikes, original sound drums and yoga. There are always seminars and workshops at Edith and Helmut's home. The participants can rent Schneeweißchen & Rosenrot with their accommodation. The property is in a quiet cul-de-sac with direct access to the forest. Forest bathing, Vienna Woods hiking trails, mountain biking, mountain bike trail center and summer toboggan run round off the stay.
