The apartments of Schilcherlandleben am Weinberg Hochgrail offer views over the gentle hills and vineyards in the surrounding area.
Morning mist drifts gently from the valleys, the sun rises over the vines, and tranquility fills the landscape. Situated directly among vineyards, the accommodation combines nature, panoramic views, and a slower pace of life with stylish, high-quality design.
Built in 2023, this building is part of the Schilcherlandleben brand and was designed by an architect with family ties to the region. The architecture combines modern, minimalist forms with regional materials such as natural stone, untreated wood, and traditional roof tiles. Inside, warm, natural tones, clean lines, and a consistent design language throughout all apartments dominate. Light-filled rooms, individually designed sofas, and open-plan layouts create an atmosphere of peace and comfort.
Sustainability also plays a central role here: Heating and cooling are provided by a geothermal heat pump. The construction deliberately utilizes solid materials and natural building materials. The gravelled forecourt allows rainwater to seep into the ground naturally. Planning and construction were always carried out in harmony with the protected local and landscape character.
Guests receive a personal welcome, firsthand tips, and enjoy direct contact with their hosts. The Schilcherland region, often called the "Tuscany of Austria," entices visitors with its distinctive Schilcher wine, traditional wine taverns, and sustainable tourism. Those seeking tranquility, nature, high-quality design, and regional culinary delights will find a place to breathe deeply, savor the moment, and feel completely at ease.

The architecture combines a restrained, locally typical exterior with an exceptionally well-thought-out interior design. The building services are simple, efficient, and completely invisibly integrated. As it was a self-designed project, all aspects – from the overall concept to the smallest furnishing details – could be designed and controlled in-house. All the companies involved are from Styria, predominantly from the immediate vicinity, including the carpentry firm, which is also based in the village.
A breakfast basket filled with organic products and regional delicacies is available, including a vegan option. The "house wine" is produced in partnership with a local winery – the vineyard belongs to an estate that also includes another holiday home owned by the hosts.
The house is heated by a geothermal heat pump. Green electricity, a private photovoltaic system, and membership in an energy cooperative complete the sustainable energy concept. An electric vehicle charging station and an electric company car demonstrate the commitment to environmentally friendly mobility. Waste separation is standard practice, sanitary facilities are water-efficient, and all lighting is LED. The private garden is maintained as a natural orchard and is mowed only twice a year. Regional sourcing is preferred, and sustainability topics are explained in more detail to interested guests.
