Sande7 is located in the Lauenburg Lakes region and the adjacent Schaalsee region, nestled in an idyllic landscape shaped by the Ice Age with extensive forests, deep lakes and many nature reserves.
The guest rooms offer a view of lush roses blooming directly outside the windows. From the holiday apartment, one looks out over the garden to the horse pasture and the wide fields beyond.
The spacious garden serves as an immediate recreational area, inviting guests to linger with its various seating areas, hammock, and outdoor bed. Here, guests encounter free-roaming chickens and ducks, while horses graze in the pasture. A particular highlight is the Garrensee, a clear forest lake within walking distance, offering three swimming spots amidst unspoiled nature and perfect for refreshing excursions.
The small B&B is run by Kathrin Neitzel and Jan Steinhilber, who live in the house with their family and are always available to help guests. Sande7 combines living and working in one place: fruit and vegetables from their own garden, animals right on the property, and a family atmosphere create an authentic experience. Everything is under one roof in an old farmhouse that was originally a homestead. The style and design are inspired by the house's rustic, Nordic heritage. Many pieces of furniture come from the previous owners, who ran an antique barn, and blend harmoniously into the decor.
The rooms are individually designed, some with alcoves on the second level; small but cozy, and equipped with modern bathrooms. The holiday apartment in the former cowshed is particularly spacious and flooded with light. The heart of the house is the bright threshing floor, which serves as a lounge and breakfast room. Small, lovingly designed details and warm materials create a welcoming atmosphere and make Sande7 a quiet, nature-oriented retreat that appeals to families, couples, and solo travelers alike.

We exclusively use organic products or produce from our own garden. Exceptions include espresso from Solino in Ethiopia and wine from Jochen Seibert in Rheinhessen, who cultivates his land sustainably and geomantically. Organic kitchen waste is composted (Bokashi) and used in the garden. Bread and rolls are baked on-site using regional spelt and rye flour, and jams and spreads are homemade. We do not use any convenience foods. The cuisine is predominantly vegetarian, and vegan options are available upon request. If meat is served, it comes from small, regional, and organic farms, ideally certified by Bioland or Demeter.
The house is heated by a heat pump, and approximately 75% of its electricity comes from its own photovoltaic system, with the remaining 25% being 100% green electricity from Naturstrom. A private wastewater treatment plant with a percolation system ensures sustainable wastewater treatment on the property. Therefore, only ecological detergents and cleaning agents, as well as effective microorganisms (EM), are used. The hosts are members of Slow Food and the German Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation (BUND) and live these convictions in their restaurant. The natural garden, with its wilderness areas, native trees and shrubs, orchard, and wildflower meadow, provides habitat and refuge for many bird species, insects, and other small animals.
Kathrin offers Reiki treatments and initiations. Additionally, there is a network of recommended massage therapists, yoga studios, and aromatherapists in the area. Guests can also enjoy cycling, hiking, swimming in the lakes, canoeing or stand-up paddleboarding, and relaxing in the garden. For children, there are groups focused on mindful interaction with animals and nature, as well as herb walks with partner wilderness educators.
