Renthof Kassel

Kassel, Hesse, Germany

The beautiful building of Renthof Kassel offers a unique atmosphere, which is characterized by the interplay of the historical basic elements and the modern design of the interior.

The boutique hotel has 55 rooms, which couldn't be more different. The three wings of the building determine the themes of the rooms: from colors and elements from the 1960s to an English style and the time it was built in the 18th century. The rooms show strong color accents, which were combined with extraordinary wallpaper decorations and accessories and are equipped with furniture of the upscale shabby chic. All of the fabrics, wallpapers, furniture, tiles and floors have been carefully selected from across Europe and with the expertise of the owners.

From the rooms, guests can see the large, idyllic inner courtyard, the Fuldaufer, and the city center. In addition to the hotel, Renthof Kassel has been operating an exclusive restaurant, a bar and several individual event locations such as the old Brethren Church since its reopening in June 2017. The bar team conjures up wonderful cocktail creations in centuries-old walls with a fireplace and is happy to make recommendations from the large selection of wines.

Renthof Kassel describes itself as a “house with a lot of heart”, in which the individual person is the focus - guests in the third largest city in Hesse can enjoy the great hospitality across the board.

Sustainable

ArchitectureFor this current use, the building, originally built as a Carmelite monastery in 1298, has been completely renovated while preserving the architecture and history of the house. During the renovation phase, new materials such as wood and marble moved into the rooms at Renthof Kassel. Most of the craft firms with which the building project was implemented came from the region.

FoodThe dishes in the in-house restaurant are seasonal and are mostly prepared from ingredients from the region. The menu changes every two months and new, delicious dishes are presented. The legendary Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad is definitely a recommendation from the head chef - this dish is an integral part of the menu. But there is also a vegan and vegetarian selection of dishes, and intolerances are taken into account.

It is an affair of the heart to work with employees from the region, which is why they enjoy preferential prices in restaurants and hotels.

EnvironmentThe hotel implements its own concept of regionality. The distances are kept short, especially when it comes to the choice of food. Plastic is largely avoided and the garbage is separated. Guests have the option of using the "MeineCardPlus" to travel by public transport at reduced prices.

Well-BeingRenthof Kassel cooperates with a yoga school and a personal trainer in order to be able to offer guests yoga and training courses tailored to their individual needs.

Testimonials
