Tiny House

Raus Lodge Landsitz

Königslutter am Elm, Lower Saxony, Germany

On the property of the beautiful Schickelsheim domain, which is more than 900 years old, the cabins of the Landsitz lodge are located in the middle of a park with old fruit trees, an idyllic pond, a pasture with lovely cattle and not far from the historic stables.

In the cabins you can spontaneously take a break from the big city without time-consuming holiday preparations or travel stress. This is about taking time for yourself and the important things and enjoying nature undisturbed. All houses have access to an open plan lounge and dining area with sun loungers, a fire pit and a sauna. When fitting out the interior, attention was consistently paid to natural materials and their resource-saving production. The modern minimalism combined with comfort creates instant grounding, which one often looks for in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The large windows literally bring nature into the house and, like a painting, this view changes again and again depending on the time of day and the mood of the light.

"Raus" was founded in 2021 by school friends Johann, Julian and Christopher and to date there are already more than 35 cabins in the middle of nature around Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Hanover and Stuttgart, which can be booked individually or together. The idea is to bring people back to nature while having the least possible impact on the environment, with a gentle production method and all-round sustainable values.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe cabins are modern and carefully thought out. The architects and the selected manufacturers from Europe largely use environmentally friendly materials. The cabins are built on trailers without a foundation and are therefore mobile. They work independently, which is why no pipes had to be laid.

FoodGuests can book a selection of meal packs with their stay, which will be waiting for them in the cabin upon arrival. When putting together the food packages, Raus works with Berlin companies that share the same values as her. These include the Archipel delicatessen delivery service, the natural wine brand Nature's Calling and the Michelin-star restaurants Nobelhart and Schmutzig. Guests can add extras at the time of booking or add them later as the date of their stay approaches. Coffee, salt, pepper, sugar, vinegar and oil are available on site in the well equipped kitchen.

Together with the sustainable agroforestry company "Gut und Bösel" Raus initiated a forest with 2000 trees in Brandenburg. For each booking, another tree should be planted. In addition, Raus works in various locations with private landowners who market their products to guests or offer services such as farm visits, horseback riding lessons or bicycle rentals. This enables partners to benefit from sustainable tourism in an uncomplicated way and to get involved in the topic themselves. Farmers in particular are facing major challenges, such as those caused by climate change. All Raus employees are allowed to spend time in the cabins every year. There is also a subsidy for local transport or sports studios.

EnvironmentElectricity is generated by solar panels on the roof, water is supplied by a large tank, which is of course regularly refilled depending on the length of stay. There is also an eco-friendly dry toilet. Raus also works exclusively with small, sustainable brands, for example with the ceramics, which are handmade in a Berlin studio and fired in an energy-saving manner. Waste separation is carefully monitored and the waste bins are clearly labeled for better orientation. Eco-friendly and refillable shower gel and dish soap are provided.

Testimonials
