This campsite on the southern edge of the island is an alternative oasis in the middle of the touristy landscape of Elba.
Vittorio Rigoli has been running the farm for a long time and has created here step by step with a lot of his own creativity and inspiration a place where he could implement a healthy lifestyle with family and friends. In order to make this place accessible to even more people, he founded an agricamping on the site in 2001.
With different idyllic places between olive trees and vines for tents and campers. A yurt, a few glamping tents with terraces and shady pergolas were added over the years. There are also two apartments with well-equipped kitchens and cozy living rooms.
From morning to evening, there is nothing but home-made delicacies with ingredients from our own garden in the small café-restaurant, which guests can also buy in the attached shop.
Hammocks hang everywhere and the sea is only a few minutes away. If you like it here, you are looking for simplicity and tranquility away from the noisy holiday activities. And found it here. Just an oasis.
We also featured this accommodation on our blog at Five places for glamping.

ArchitectureThe buildings with the apartments were built according to bioarchitectural principles from natural materials with a solar cell roof and a thermodynamic heat pump for producing hot water. A lot of sunshine comes in through the large windows, even in winter. And the thick walls cool in summer and keep warm in winter. The stones come from a nearby quarry. The furniture is second hand or from a small family-run furniture store nearby. A lot of re-used building materials have been used on the campsite.
FoodIf you come here, you should enjoy the homemade ice cream made from garden fruits and herbs, such as basil, rosemary or blackberry, at least once. The other dishes are mainly prepared from home-grown vegetables and fruit. In the morning there is homemade wood-oven bread and homemade jams and cakes. Fish is available directly from the fisherman, meat from sustainable farming in the region. Everything is prepared in a typical Tuscan way and of course from what is growing.
Orti di Mare employees often come from afar to work here and thus become new residents of the area. Many have been part of the team for a long time. Here you get a detailed insight into sustainable life in harmony with the surrounding nature and have the opportunity to freely use the offers of the campsite. The operators of the Orti di Mare support a local project to protect the natural dune landscape of the beach.
EnvironmentAs the name suggests, the Orti di Mare are vegetable and orchards by the sea. The campground and the glamping tents as well as the apartments and the common areas are arranged on the site of the agricultural business in such a way that the logistical and efficient coexistence of the agricultural and guest businesses functions ideally. The gardens are cultivated according to organic rules. On the estate, photovoltaic and thermodynamic systems provide electricity and hot water. Rainwater is collected and reused. Of course, cleaning is carried out with eco-cleaning agents. All new employees are made aware of the economical use of water and the topics of recycling, natural cultivation methods and the respectful treatment of the environment.
