Oliva Azzurra are two holiday apartments that capture the magic of Liguria in very different ways.
At Appartamento Canneto Soprano, the view from the small roof terrace sweeps far across the evergreen Val Prino all the way down to the sea. On clear winter days, you can even see Corsica in the distance. In summer, you can sit in the shade of the small carrugio in front of the house, in the heart of a historic hamlet where narrow streets, ancient walls, and stories from times long past blend together.
The Casa Franco apartment opens onto the romantic Carrugi and the historic houses opposite. Here, you feel like you're in a silent film scene—surrounded by stone, history, and the quiet everyday life of the village.
Both apartments combine carefully restored original elements with modern details. Many were renovated and lovingly integrated with local craftspeople – sustainable, high-quality, and with a flair for beauty.
After many travels, the host couple fell in love with Liguria: with the landscape, which changes in a flash from the sea to the Maritime Alps, with the people, with the rich cultural life. Guests can look forward to little discoveries – from swimming in the nearby natural pools to botanical gardens on the coast, to traditional village festivals and spontaneous art events.

The holiday apartments are located in historic houses over 300 years old, bearing typical features of Ligurian architecture, often built directly on rocks. The intricate construction of these small hamlets, created through centuries of expansion, gives the rooms an individual and distinctive layout. The buildings are constructed of regional natural stone, some of which remains visible and provides natural insulation through stone walls up to one meter thick. To preserve the breathability of these walls, additional insulation is omitted. Modern energy-saving measures are sometimes at odds with the protection of the historic building: For example, solar panels are not permitted on the roof of the smaller apartment, yet a 20 mm thick roof insulation combined with modern infrared heating provides above-average insulation. The larger apartment, however, has a photovoltaic system. All apartments are equipped with new double-glazed windows. The furnishings focus on functionality, quality, and durability, with materials such as lime paints, stoneware, and natural wood. Old furniture was lovingly restored or refurbished, and regional craftsmen and manufacturers were consciously supported.
Waste separation has long been a part of everyday life, and clear information on this is provided in the apartments. Only environmentally friendly, biodegradable products are used for cleaning. Upon check-in, guests receive personalized tips on small, mostly family-run shops and restaurants in the area. They offer fresh, regional products, secure jobs, and are often easily accessible on foot or by bike.
Guests can book private yoga lessons with hosts Sandra and Jörn, both certified yoga teachers. Host Sandra also offers holistic health coaching in a one-on-one setting. Dog owners can request nutritional advice to support their pets' mineral balance.
