Odenwald-Lodges

Reichelsheim, Hesse, Germany

The Odenwald is literally in the middle of Germany and, despite its central location, offers plenty of nature and opportunities for forest bathing, hiking and taking a deep breath. Two families who were friends from the Odenwald region had a shared dream - they wanted to create a feel-good holiday home for guests. In 2022, this resulted in two modern, ecological wooden houses (purple and sky blue), which they built and furnished with great attention to detail.

In the morning, the light shines through the large windows into the high living rooms and the view over green meadows, forests and often grazing deer is incredibly soothing. The Odenwald Lodges are a retreat on the edge of the forest, where regional architecture and natural materials have been combined with modern design. The open construction, the warm scent of wood, the high-quality furnishings and the view make you feel at home immediately. Comfortable velvet sofas, cozy fireplaces and beautiful outdoor furniture invite you to read, play, chat or relax at any time of year.

Massages are offered for wellness fans and there is an infrared sauna. For culture lovers, the pretty towns of Michelstadt and Erbach can be reached in around twenty minutes. The Erbach ensemble with its castle, pleasure garden with orangery and historic town hall is worth a trip followed by a visit to a restaurant. It is all the nicer to end the day by the fireplace or in the garden and enjoy the peace and quiet there.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe lodges offer regional architecture and materials combined with modern design. Out of respect for nature, the houses were built from the renewable raw material wood and ensure a healthy indoor climate. Wood regulates moisture by absorbing it and releasing it again. It stays warm longer in the winter months and nice and cool in the summer. The typical regional construction, but also the modern style, were important to the families.

The lodges are barrier-free for the deaf or hearing-impaired and have been certified according to the "Travel for All" standard. Accessibility means that guests receive a Signolux Traveler set with a radio-controlled doorbell, receiver alarm clock, fire alarm, as well as a vibration cushion and alarm monitor.

EnvironmentSustainability is a top priority here: from organic cleaning products to energy-efficient underfloor heating to a charging station for electric cars – the hosts show respect for nature in every detail.
