Bad Saarow, Brandenburg, Germany

Bad Saarow on Scharmützelsee in Brandenburg is perfect for switching off. The historic spa town became known around 1900 for its healthy thermal springs and is still popular today for its many opportunities for activities around the beautiful lake.

With only eleven rooms, a stay at the Nook feels more like visiting friends than staying in a hotel. The house exudes a relaxed atmosphere - whether you just want to relax, work or be active. Six people with different creative backgrounds recently took over the house from the previous owners. They all have one thing in common: they want to give their guests unforgettable hours and this corner (nook) seems ideal for that.

Since they want to modernize the existing space in the most sustainable way possible, they are changing the ambience bit by bit. Lots of plants, natural materials and a successful mix of boho elements and Scandi style ensure a modern look. There is always a suitable playlist with pleasant sounds. In the honesty bar, everyone can help themselves and chill out in comfortable beanbags. This way, you can quickly get to know new people over a hot tea or a cool white wine. And this kind of relaxed exchange is what makes the place so special.

The breakfast is great - everything is fresh, organic and straight from the farm around the corner. And the homemade jams are a real insider tip! The absolute highlight in every season is the direct access to the lake. In summer you can swim here and in winter you can enjoy the fresh air undisturbed on the private jetty. There is even a small boat available for guests to borrow. If you are looking for a relaxing time in nature with good food and authentic warmth, the Nook is the right place for you.

Sustainable

FoodAll food is seasonal and comes directly from the local organic farm. In order to waste as little food as possible, egg dishes, for example, are freshly prepared. Any leftover food is given away to the employees.

The employees come from the town and live practically opposite. They can take advantage of the breakfast offer and go swimming on site. They also have free annual passes for the Saarow Therme next door so they can relax there.

EnvironmentAll products are organic, regional and seasonal. Only organic cleaning products are used and packaging, cardboard, glass and residual waste are consistently separated. The outdoor lighting runs on a timer to save electricity. A wildflower meadow for bees is also being planned. There is a "green discount" for everyone who arrives by bike or train.

Well-BeingThere are two small saunas, a salt sauna and a Finnish sauna. There is also a large yoga room with lots of yoga mats that you can take into the garden or into your room. Retreats on the topics of fasting, fitness or relaxation take place regularly.

Testimonials
