Naturcamping Viva

Rueras, Canton of Grisons, Switzerland

The picture-perfect mountain panorama in view, lush green meadows all around - anyone who looks out of their tent or tiny house in the morning can hardly believe how beautiful it is here. The “Viva” nature campsite is idyllically located below the village of Rueras in the Graubünden valley directly on the Rhine, which is still a small stream here.

Nicole has been looking after this great place with a lot of passion and commitment since autumn 2020. She is supported by a cheerful team. Together they have already created a lot of new things and still have lots of exciting expansion plans. A sauna is currently being built to make camping even more comfortable, especially in winter. Yes, exactly. You can camp and ski here in winter. A fairly inexpensive alternative for passionate winter sports enthusiasts.

This place is intended to give guests big and small the opportunity to enjoy untouched nature and at the same time relax in an environmentally friendly way. A place for like-minded people who want to really recharge their batteries without having to travel long. There are a total of 100 parking spaces and five tiny houses, four of which have a well-equipped kitchen. The houses are minimalistically furnished in natural colors with high-quality wooden fittings. And there is everything you need. It's usually a lot less than you think.

If you don't want to cook yourself, you'll be well served in the excellent on-site restaurant. Here you can find delicious and popular classics of Swiss cuisine such as capuns (a type of chard roulade with cheese), bizochels (a type of spaetzle with herbs and mountain cheese), local cheese fondue, wild salad with nuts, barley soup and delicious cakes. Many hikers and day trippers also like to stop here. You simply have a wonderful view of the mountains from the table. The interior is cozy and there is a fireplace for those colder days. “Bien di” here means “good day” and that applies to most days here.

Sustainable

ArchitectureA new building made of straw, clay and lime by the architect “Atelier Schmidt” is planned for 2025. This building will then provide space for courses (pottery, yoga, herbal courses) and coworking.

FoodMainly seasonal products such as meat and cheese only from the region are offered here. The garden is intended to grow as a permaculture garden in the long term.

The team works in flat hierarchies with a lot of commitment. There are regular team events. Everyone is allowed to make mistakes here and everyone supports each other. The employees live on the campsite in the summer.

EnvironmentSolar system and cleaning with effective microorganisms instead of chemicals, strict waste separation, no light pollution, local products (mostly organic quality) in the restaurant, raising guests' awareness of environmental issues, preserving habitats for insects and birds, upcycling furniture and repairs, selecting products that are as long-lasting as possible . Sustainability is always thought of socially, ecologically and economically here!

Testimonials
