The Lustrup Farmhouse is nestled in beautiful nature and guests look out over the garden of the freestanding courtyard and the fields in the background. The atmosphere is peaceful and ensures relaxation as soon as you arrive.
The interior of the house with the vaulted ceilings, old beams and sliding doors is unique and fits perfectly with the farmhouse. Much of the furniture and pictures were carefully selected at antique markets in Denmark and England. The Lustrup Farmhouse feels like a cozy home away from home. Upcycling furniture and a lived hygge feeling represent the soul of the house.
Each apartment is individually designed and shines in a different color. All are equipped with natural linen. The apartments combine comfort and a relaxed feeling of country life that you get from working farms in the British countryside. The holiday apartments are named after animals that can be discovered in the vicinity of the farmhouse: rabbits, geese, deer, ducks, owls and swans.
The Lustrup Farmhouse transformed from a farm to a farmhouse. Today's farmhouse and outbuildings were built in 1927 as a cattle ranch. The farm is located in the beautiful landscape on the edge of Ribe, in the Wadden Sea National Park. The farm has been owned by the hosts' family for over thirty years and two generations: inside. The parents of the host Janni Weis Fenn lived in the house for 28 years, so she has many wonderful memories. By renting it out, she and her husband Alex would like to share the beauty of the guests with them: wonderful nature, tasteful furnishings, fresh air and wonderful tranquility.

ArchitectureDuring the renovation, as much as possible of the original structure of the barn was preserved and old elements were combined with new ones. Many materials were reused, including wood, bricks, lamps and the tiles on the terrace. The aim of the hosts was to keep their ecological footprint as small as possible and to make use of the natural resources of the area.
The hosts organize a Christmas market every year with lots of upcycled items. The proceeds will be donated to local charities.
EnvironmentThe farmhouse is heated with solar collectors and geothermal heating and supplied with hot water. The additional energy that is needed comes from Danish windmills. Guests are encouraged to help with waste disposal and recycling (food, household, paper and plastic) and to save energy where possible.
