House

LUCHS Lindenberg

Bad Homburg, Hesse, Germany

In the beautiful Taunus, surrounded by fields, meadows and forests, a half-timbered house from 1903 peeks out between fruit trees and fir trees. Here in the midst of nature, between vegetable gardens and a natural swimming pond, is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, to feel yourself again and to celebrate the simplicity of life.

The hosts of the Luchs Lindenberg, Denise Omurca and Nils Jansen, have created an enchanted, secret paradise here, to which city dwellers in particular from Frankfurt am Main, which is only 20 kilometers away, like to retreat. No wonder - here you will find everything that you usually look for in vain in the city: peace, security, clean air, relaxation and lots of nature. The Hideaway is named after the wild cat, the lynx, which always lives in hiding, and can accommodate up to three guests.

The Luchs Lindenberg can only be reached on foot so that the peace and quiet of this gem is not disturbed under any circumstances. Instead of a television, a cozy fireplace flickers here. Outside, the screech owl calls, inviting guests to turn off their cell phones and turn on rest mode. And that shouldn't be too difficult.

The interior of the holiday home is stylish and comfortable at the same time. It combines contemporary design elements with lots of warm wood and ceramics. Forest bathing indoors and outdoors - that's no problem at the Luchs Lindenberg. In summer you can float in the natural pond and let your thoughts wander. Or you can slip on your hiking boots yourself and explore the grounds, the permaculture gardens that belong to the house and the many hiking and biking trails on site.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe half-timbered house dates back to 1903 and has been lovingly renovated by the hosts. Great importance was attached to preserving the original character of the house. The inspiration for the interior design was right on the doorstep. Warm, earthy tones and subdued light bring the forest theme and the originality of nature indoors. With the support of the Studio ABERJA from Frankfurt am Main, a very special mix was created here from vintage designer furniture, lots of wood, ceramics, a fireplace and certified natural fibers: contemporary and traditional, simple and high quality, familiar and exquisite. The reduction to the essential is based on the Asian Zen aesthetic.

FoodThe Lynx Lindenberg is located on the Braumannswiesen. The fruit and vegetables grown here in permaculture, together with herbs, end up freshly harvested in the welcome basket for the guests. In addition, there is always a selection of vegan products in the house. Before arrival, guests are informed about the optional shopping service and receive the recipes specially created for the Lindenberg lynx by a chef. So nobody has to arrive with bulging shopping bags. Pizza can be baked in the in-house stone oven and the selection in the wine cellar leaves nothing to be desired.

Employees of the Bad Homburg workshop for the disabled have been employed in the permaculture Braumannswiesen, which belongs to the house, for many years.

EnvironmentThe interior of the Lynx Lindenberg consists mainly of natural materials. Numerous pieces of furniture are the result of skillful up- & recycling. All food provided is vegan and comes mainly from our own permaculture cultivation. The care products are purely plant-based and nature-based. Only environmentally friendly cleaning agents are used. The garbage that is ideally reduced to an absolute minimum is strictly separated. Before arrival, guests receive a document with information about how to deal with nature on site. The hosts would like to encourage them to make their vacation as sustainable as possible.

Well-BeingThe Luchs Lindenberg has its own natural swimming pond, which invites you to cool off in summer and reflects its idyllic surroundings. There is a wide range of natural-based vegan care products, including masks, scrubs and oils. Yoga mats and bicycles are also available for guests. The holiday home is a perfect starting point for cycling tours and hikes.
