Løvtag Bornholm is an exceptional retreat on the Danish island of Bornholm and has been part of the Løvtag Treetop Hotels group since 2025. The concept of the original location in North Jutland is continued here, combining modern architecture with an immediate connection to nature.
Each treehouse is oriented so that the bed is directly in front of a large panoramic window. The first view in the morning overlooks the forest, gentle meadows, and, depending on the location, small ponds. The interplay of light is particularly impressive when the sun rises through the trees and bathes the room in warm hues.
Løvtag is deliberately minimalist: no Wi-Fi, no constant digital distractions. Instead, peace, time, and space for shared moments. Inside and out, an atmosphere of deceleration is created, where nature and architecture blend seamlessly. The design follows Scandinavian principles with clean lines, natural materials, and a warm, cozy "hygge" ambiance.
Bornholm itself is known for its impressive nature with cliffs, beaches and forests, as well as for its vibrant culinary and craft scene.

Designed by architect Sigurd Larsen, the Treetop Cabins feature a minimalist, distinctly Scandinavian design that deliberately recedes into the background, placing nature at the forefront. The construction is particularly environmentally friendly: the cabins stand on stilts with screw foundations, leaving trees and root systems undisturbed. The surrounding forest is permanently protected and may neither be logged nor converted into monocultures.
All staff members live in the immediate vicinity, and the team is international, including some new residents who have moved to the island of Bornholm. Løvtag works closely with local partners, including a bakery, an orchard producing jam and apple juice, a regional laundry, and a local supermarket. Guests are also actively encouraged to visit local restaurants, museums, galleries, and shops.
The treehouses were primarily built by local craftspeople and are constructed from sustainably certified wood. Environmental responsibility is also a top priority in the operation of the property: guests are actively encouraged to recycle, and a collection point is located near the parking area. Wastewater treatment meets the highest standards and is approved by the relevant nature and environmental authorities of Bornholm. Only certified, fragrance-free cleaning products are used.
A foot care set from a local soap manufacturer is available on site. Numerous hiking and cycling trails begin right outside the door, inviting you to explore the surrounding nature. The natural experience is further enhanced by a forest lake, perfect for swimming, fishing, or simply relaxing. For golf enthusiasts, a renowned golf club is located just about 3 kilometers away.
