Langenbachhof

Schonach im Schwarzwald, Black Forest, Germany

There he lies snugly against the slope, the Langenbachhof, all alone in a clearing, surrounded by the tall trees of the black silent forest.

Two souls live - oh - under this roof. From the outside it looks like a typical Schwarzwaldhof around 1813 with its roof pulled down to the side. Streams, cows and the obligatory little pond are not far, and everything is perfectly restored. From inside, it looks just as true to the original. Except when you go to the bathroom, there is a flash of chrome and light concrete, and the natural slate underfoot is warmed by a mild underfloor heating. The rooms, however, can only be heated with wood stoves. And the beds in the rooms are from long gone times, but you do not lie here on straw or horsehair but on modern ergonomic Hüsler Nest mattresses. The traditional smoke kitchen is fully functional, but next door there is a perfectly equipped modern kitchen with an electric stove and oven. Two souls united so well: Here I am human, here I may be.

A seminar or cottage like a small museum. So simple, so beautiful, so focused. Do not worry - with all the love - modern kitchen and bathrooms with underfloor heating are still on offer. There is only no WLAN and only very limited cellular networks. Unconnected to find yourself. Here it goes.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe beautifully restored Black Forest house looks from the outside almost exactly as it did 200 years ago. In fact, almost everything looks the same inside as it did 200 years ago! Time seems to be standing still here. Original old wood, whether floor, doors, walls or beams, the typical regional smoking kitchen looks just like in the old days and even from the reduced furniture is nothing new or modern.

FoodThose who bring their supplies with them will then have the special pleasure of cooking in a historical smoke kitchen on the real old fireplace. Wood and the appropriate cooking accessories are ready in the kitchen, which is lovingly furnished with lots of antiques. Otherwise there is also a fully equipped modern kitchen as well as the possibility to have the food for a larger group delivered for lunch or dinner. The menu then consists of simple regional dishes. For company events there is also the possibility of an all-round service after arrangement.

EnvironmentTile or Bolleröfen are in all rooms and warm with a cozy log fire. The warm water creates a solar system on the roof. When expanding the kitchen and bathrooms, as far as possible natural materials were used and the decor is very high quality. For reasons of sustainability, an interim cleaning of the rooms and laundry is only after appropriate agreement.

Well-BeingFinally want to come out .... many say that. And here it becomes reality. In the middle of the forest, cut off from the world, completely focused on itself, on the group, the common theme. And surrounded by nature without disturbing radiations. The mobile radio accessibility is often limited. And there is no Wi-Fi network at all in the house or nearby. No more than a TV. But an old gramophone to bring momentum in the shack.
