Landhaus Averbeck

Bergen, Lower Saxony, Germany

The historic country house in the Lüneburg Heath from 1907 has been an owner-managed family hotel since 2011, or to be precise the “Familotel Landhaus Averbeck”. The owner family had previously run an asparagus farm at the location.

Frauke, Ross and their three adult children run a very special hotel. With its thirty rooms, it is large enough for an all-round carefree package and personal enough to feel individually looked after. The entire family holiday here should be warm, uncomplicated and close to nature. While the parents relax, there is plenty for the children to discover. For everyone there is the large pool, nature, good food and fresh air.

In addition to the diverse sports program for the adults, there is also an extensive children's program with craft time, fun in the vegetable garden, creative workshop, treasure hunt or lantern parade. Of course, the farm animals and the horse paddocks are a special highlight.

The rooms and cabins of different sizes are bright, modern and individually furnished. The fresh colors and colorful wallpapers are complemented by charming decoration ideas. It is the ideal place for anyone who doesn't want to miss out on a stylish interior with children and at the same time wants to spend a relaxed, child-friendly holiday.

The team is very friendly and helpful. In the in-house restaurant “Kleine Möhre” with a cozy terrace, chef Gunnar and his team prepare delicious food for every taste. Inside, you can even look from the table into the 250 square meter play barn with slide and climbing tower if the parents want to talk to each other or the other guests for longer. The good conversations can then be continued in the evening in the bar or on the terrace - relaxed parents and happy children will surely fall asleep peacefully afterwards.

Sustainable

FoodSustainability and treating nature with respect is very important to the owners. The Holsten farm supplies the fresh vegetables that were not grown on the farm itself. On the farm, gardener Julia plants runner and bush beans, zucchini, carrots, Hokkaido pumpkins and various types of potatoes as well as herbs and edible flowers. The fresh produce still needed is delivered by local suppliers in reusable boxes. If necessary, packed lunches for excursions can be packed or fresh pizza baked.

EnvironmentThe roofs are extensively and discreetly equipped with a photovoltaic system. LED lamps are used in the house and the electricity comes from our own combined heat and power plant, which also produces usable heat for heating. There is also a wood chip plant that generates environmentally friendly heat and electricity. The house water is filtered and the beds are mostly watered using drip irrigation. This ensures a continuous, needs-based supply of water and prevents water from seeping into the ground unnecessarily. In addition, the leaching of soil minerals and soil nutrients is minimized. Only natural-based detergents and cleaning products are used and a steam cleaner is used for cleaning. The use of plastic is largely restricted.

Well-BeingIn addition to numerous sports courses, cosmetic and massage treatments are offered. The large sauna and the pool, which is heated from April, are particularly soothing. The course program consists of yoga, fitness and Pilates courses. You can also rent bicycles for free. There is also a modern fitness room with high-quality cardio equipment.

Testimonials
