La Fuente

Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain

This pearl of Mallorcan Art Nouveau architecture stood empty for a long time until it was brought back to life in 2017 by a lover of beautiful old houses. He carefully renovated and renovated the town house, which is over 120 years old. As many original elements (doors, floors, windows) as possible have been preserved and now contribute significantly to the beauty of the holiday home. It is suitable for up to eight people and offers enough space for so many people inside. Among other things because of the four bathrooms. For eating outside there is a small courtyard with the ancient fountain, which gives the house its name. And a terrace on the roof. The peaks of the Tramuntana mountains are enthroned above everything. Here you live in the same rhythm as the locals. In the mornings and evenings, there is a lot of activity in the streets and squares. Siesta at noon. It goes down to the sea with a historic tram and there is Sóller itself with its sights and picturesque mountain villages and landscapes to explore.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe town of Sóller on the island of Mallorca has a very large variety of Art Nouveau buildings, because locals who were getting rich abroad were building new houses at the time. The townhouse La Fuente dates from around 1890 and the original wooden doors and windows, the stairs and the old tiled floor with traces of more than 120 years have been left in the house and carefully refurbished.

When renovating and expanding the house, only local craftsmen were commissioned, who, for example, realized all the built-in cupboards, the kitchen and the terrace cladding on site. All the materials used are from the region and products from a local handicapped workshop were also used in the establishment.
