With views of the peaks of the Eiger, Jungfrau and Mönch, Karles Hus is nestled in the gentle slopes of the Black Forest, surrounded by Black Forest firs, deciduous forests and wide meadows where the neighbor's calves occasionally graze.
The house itself is an original Black Forest house, which was extensively renovated in 1993 to combine tradition and modernity: heavy wooden beams, refined screed floors and large window fronts create an atmosphere that is both grounding and expansive.
At an altitude of 1,000 meters, on the southern slope of the small village of Wieden, the house offers unobstructed views and sun-drenched rooms. The spacious living and dining area features a wood-burning stove as its centerpiece – a place for baking bread, cooking, and spending cozy hours together. Guests gather around the large wooden table on traditional farmhouse chairs, complemented by sofas, armchairs, furs, and wool blankets in warm colors. Comfort and warmth are immediately apparent.
The garden invites you to linger, whether after a hike in summer or a trip to the nearby ski lifts in winter. The combination of solid wood, airy rooms, and light floors creates a light and welcoming atmosphere. Karles Hus is not just a house, but a retreat that touches the soul – uncomplicated, authentic, and furnished with a personal touch that makes every visitor feel at home.
The house contains two additional apartments used by the hosts. These have a separate entrance. The garden is exclusively for the use of the holiday home guests.

The solid timber construction utilizes raw materials directly from the Black Forest. Local craft businesses were involved in all aspects of the work.
Karles Hus is not only situated amidst breathtaking natural scenery, but also in a particularly protected area: The Black Forest is characterized by a high density of large protected areas, and the house is located within the Southern Black Forest Nature Park. Here, pristine landscapes blend seamlessly with rural infrastructure – from direct sales of meat and cheese from small farms to the sustainable use of resources. Upcycling, recycling, and the property's own spring water further enhance the experience, fostering a particularly mindful and nature-connected stay.
After a winter's day on the village's two snow-sure ski lifts or a long hike in the surrounding area, you can relax in your own infrared sauna. In summer, the nearby lakes Schluchsee and Titisee invite you to enjoy all kinds of water sports – from sailing to stand-up paddleboarding.
