Whoever longs for total peace and quiet should go to Jesper and Petra Uvesten in Sweden. Your accommodation INFOREST is secluded in the forest, far away from other houses and roads. Despite the seclusion in the forest, there are still all the amenities you need to spend a relaxing holiday - including hot water, a shower and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge.
Jesper and Petra had had the idea of INFOREST in their heads for a number of years. They wanted to build unique, off-the-grid huts in the forest - and I think they succeeded. The two believe in sustainable tourism and nature tourism and that's why they are so proud to offer handcrafted, eco-friendly and self-sufficient cottages in the beautiful forest outside of idyllic Hjo in Sweden.
In INFOREST, visitors should have the opportunity to live in a modern and minimalist hut with every comfort in the middle of the forest, while leaving a minimal ecological footprint. The furnishing style? Scandinavian design and natural materials that blend in well with the surrounding nature. Incidentally, the houses bear the names of Jesper and Petra's children: Esther, Ebbe and Vilgot.

ArchitectureThe houses are on wheels and have large windows that give the feeling of being in the forest when actually you are inside. When choosing the interior design and materials, care was taken to ensure that they are natural. The design was made in such a way that the solar panels can be optimally used. Also, the houses were built by a local company that used as many local materials as possible and also took great care to make the houses as sustainable as possible.
FoodThere is a sustainable breakfast pack available at INFOREST that can be purchased from the local shop. Jesper and Petra also try to put together a grocery package with the local shop and buy as much local and organic as possible.
EnvironmentThe small houses are powered by solar energy stored in batteries. It is also important to Jesper and Petra to encourage guests to use resources carefully, both electricity and water. Since the houses have a built-in water tank and water level meter, visitors become very aware of their water consumption.
