The "Hostal Grau" should actually be called "Hostal Grün", because it is a green oasis in the middle of the vibrant city of Barcelona. A place in the beautiful old town (Ciutat Vella) to rest and recharge your batteries for further exploration. Spacious, bright rooms and lush plants ensure immediate relaxation. Add to that the hospitality of a family that has been welcoming guests with a great deal of enthusiasm and personality for decades. And which makes it very easy to feel at home.

The building was built in 1862 and has been in the family since 1925. The Grau family had operated a bar on the ground floor since the 1940s, famous for grandmother's vermouth. The bar was so well known that it appeared in books by Josep Pla and Roberto Bolaño. From 1960 the guest house was remodeled and renamed "Hosteria Grau". Since then, the building has continued to develop - towards sustainable accommodation for travellers. Bright rooms, beautiful wood and wicker furniture, carpets and textiles made from natural materials, lots of plants, new bathrooms, historical tiles, charming details such as personal messages to the guests and cheerful, sunny yellow accessories round off the modern and sustainable furnishing style.

Different sized double rooms and apartments also invite to longer stays. The so-called "off-room" ensures optimal relaxation thanks to the complete reduction of electromagnetic radiation. Special biological mattresses were used in all rooms. There is a small hotel shop in the foyer, and coffee, cake and fruit are available all day in the cozy lounge. Small, urban and green is written on the wall and that hits the nail on the head.
